ABANDONED

Chapter 34

 I woke up the following morning with pains in my body. I walked out of the room and looked outside, I walked forward and searched but could not see her as only the children were out.

"Where can she be?" I asked myself as I walked through the corners but couldn't find her.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath as I thought about where she could be as my head ached badly.

"I would need to go back to my room," I said to myself and started moving to my room.

Suddenly, I bumped into someone and looked up to see who it was. It was Diana.

I smiled as I saw Diana and touched her face.

"Is everything okay?" Diana asked looking at me and I shook my head.

"No," I said.

Diana held my hand and looked into my face.

"Why are you up now?" She asked.

"Do you know of Miss Jane's whereabouts?" I asked and Diana looked at me.

"Why do you want to see her?" She asked me.

"I have a bad ache and I think I would need some drugs," I said, looking at Diana.

"I guess you have aches in your head," Diana said, and I nodded.

"Okay, come on, I have a toolbox containing drugs. They were given to me by Jane. I pick one or two of the drugs whenever my headaches and use." Diana said.

"And your aches go?" I asked Diana, who nodded her head.

"Alright, I would love to use one of them," I said to her.

She nodded and held my hand.

"We would go into my room." She said as we held hands and walked to her room.

While we were walking to her room, we bumped into another person and I raised my eyes and smiled on seeing Chloe.

"Chloe!" I called and looked at her.

Diana raised her eyes and saw Chloe.

"Chloe!" Diana also called.

"Where are you going?" Chloe asked, facing me.

"She is following me to my room. We would need to get a drug for her." Diana said and I nodded my head.

We wanted to continue walking but couldn't as Chloe stood in our front.

Diana raised her head and looked at Chloe's face.

"Easy!, I am not taking your new friend away from you," Diana said, and Chloe nodded her head, clearing the way for us to pass.

"You may go," Chloe said, and we passed through.

I raised my head to Diana and held her hand tight.

"Why did Chloe behave like that?" I asked Diana who just smiled.

"She thinks I want to take you away from her, as she isn't close to anyone here," Diana said.

"Oh!" I exclaimed.

"Now you understand the reason for her behavior," Diana said, and I breathe in.

"But she should know that I became your friend first before her," I said. "Also, you would be leaving here in two days to be with your new parent."

Diana smiled and stretched out her hands to me for a hug. I walked close to her and hugged her.

We got into her room and she walked towards the window and drew up the curtain. She walked towards a box and opened it, she brought out a key from the box and then went to her bedside.

She pulled out a box from under her bed and unlocked the box with the key, she brought out a bottle and handed it to me.

"Do take two pills." She said, then walked to the table in her room, Sophie held up a bottle containing water and a little cup. She poured a little water from the bottle into a cup and then handed it to me.

"Here you go." She said, handing me the cup of water.

I sighed and collected the cup from her.

I took two pills from the bottle of drugs, threw the drug into my mouth, and drank the water.

"You may relax a bit on my bed." She said and I nodded.

I moved up to her bed and rested my head, I closed my eyes and looked up taking in a breath.

Minutes later, I opened my eyes and looked around.

"Diana!" I called, looking around. "Diana, where are you?" I said looking around.

I got up from Diana's bed and looked out the window, I covered my eyes as the light coming from the sun outside penetrated my eyes.

I moved away from the window.

"Diana!" I called.

"I am here, Sophia." I heard Diana say.

I turned to face the door side and smiled, seeing Diana.

She was with a tray. She walked over to the table and dropped the tray.

Minutes later, Chloe came into the room and sat beside me. Diana pulled a small table towards the bed and brought down the tray from the larger table to the smaller table.

There were three plates on the tray and I guess that each of the plates was for each of us in the room.

"This is for you," Diana said, pointing a plate and a cup to me.

"This is for you." She also said, pointing a plate and a cup to Chloe.

"And here is mine." She said and picked up a plate and a cup.

She picked up the cup and drank a little of its content, then dropped it back on the tray.

She picked up the plate and started eating.

After eating, we settled down for a while.

Diana carried the tray out and came back some minutes later.

"Let's play," Chloe said and Diana smiled.

Diana walked to a music radio in her room and turned it on. Chloe and I started jumping while Diana danced.

We continued like that for hours before resting.

We rested for some minutes in Diana's room and later got up from the bed and said our bye to Diana.

I ran out of Diana's room with Chloe and tickled her.

She laughed so well, and we hugged before going out to join our other mates in playing.
