After recalling the events of the previous night, Y/N received a page from April in the E.R. for an ortho consult. She politely excused herself from lunch with Arizona, saying, "I enjoyed talking to you." Arizona smiled and nodded, hiding her disappointment behind a friendly façade as Y/N hurried off.

Y/N made her way to the E.R., trying to focus on the upcoming consult. The memory of Arizona's laughter and their conversation at lunch lingered in her mind, making it hard to concentrate. Meanwhile, Arizona was preparing to scrub in for a complex surgery involving Mirror Syndrome and an In-Utero Blood Transfusion (real ones know who really did this surgery).

As Arizona walked into the O.R., she glanced at the draped patient and then up to the gallery, hoping to see if Y/N was watching her surgery. The gallery was packed with medical students and other staff, but Y/N was not among them. A wave of disappointment washed over Arizona, but she quickly pushed it aside, focusing on the task at hand.

Standing next to the patient, Arizona took a deep breath and instructed the scrub nurse, "Scalpel." The procedure was intricate and demanding, requiring her full attention. She meticulously worked to transfuse blood to the baby while monitoring the mother's condition. The surgery stretched on for hours, each moment requiring precision and unwavering focus.

Despite the complexity, Arizona's skill shone through. She remained calm and composed, her hands steady as she navigated the delicate procedure. The room was tense, but there was a sense of trust in Arizona's capabilities. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the surgery was complete. Both the mother and the baby were stable, and the room collectively exhaled in relief.

The gallery erupted in applause, a wave of admiration and respect for Arizona's accomplishment. She looked up, scanning the faces in the gallery, her heart sinking momentarily when she didn't immediately see Y/N. But then, in the corner, she spotted a familiar face. Y/N stood there, clapping with a massive smile, her eyes filled with admiration and pride.

Arizona's eyes locked onto Y/N's, and beneath her surgical mask, she felt a smile spreading across her face. There was an unspoken connection between them, a shared moment of triumph that made everything else fade away. The applause continued, but for Arizona, the world had narrowed down to that one person in the corner, celebrating her success.

As the surgical team began to wrap up, Arizona couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness. She had not only succeeded in a challenging surgery but had also connected with someone who seemed to understand her on a deeper level. With a renewed sense of purpose, she turned her attention back to the patient, ensuring everything was in order before leaving the O.R.

Meanwhile, Y/N made her way through her consult, her mind occasionally drifting back to the surgery she had just witnessed. She couldn't shake the image of Arizona's focused expression and the way her eyes had lit up when they locked onto hers. There was something about Arizona that drew her in, something she couldn't quite put into words.

As the day went on, both women found themselves thinking about each other.
