**Y/N's Perspective**
A week had flown by since the intense surgery with Arizona, and my days had been a blur of patients, surgeries, and endless rounds. After a gruelling 24-hour shift, all I wanted was a hot cup of coffee and the comfort of my own bed. I gathered my belongings in the attendings' lounge, my mind already wandering to the cosy cafe down the street with its excellent brews.
As I zipped up my bag, I heard footsteps approaching. I looked up and was immediately captivated by the most beautiful ocean-blue eyes I had ever seen. They belonged to Arizona, who walked in with a radiant smile that seemed to brighten the room.
"Hey, Y/N. Are you finishing up?" Arizona asked, her tone warm and friendly.
I nodded, unable to suppress a smile of my own. "Yeah, finally done. You?"
Arizona sighed, a mix of exhaustion and relief in her voice. "Same here. It's been one hell of a shift. I was thinking of grabbing some coffee before heading home. There's a cafe just down the street. Want to join me?"
My tiredness momentarily vanished, replaced by a spark of excitement. "I'd love to. Coffee sounds perfect right now."
Arizona's smile widened, and her eyes sparkled. "Great! Just give me a few minutes to change out of these scrubs. I'll meet you by the entrance?"
"Sure, I'll wait for you there," I replied, feeling a flutter of anticipation in my chest.
I made my way to the hospital entrance, leaning against the wall as I waited. The cool morning air seeped through the glass doors, a reminder of the winter chill outside. I adjusted my coat, trying to keep warm while my thoughts drifted to Arizona. Despite our busy schedules, we had managed to build a strong professional rapport, and the personal connection was undeniable.
After about ten minutes, Arizona appeared, looking effortlessly stylish in black skinny jeans and an oversized brown trench coat that kept her snug against the cold. I couldn't help but admire how good Arizona looked, her casual outfit highlighting her natural beauty. Lost in my thoughts, I didn't realize I was staring until Arizona's voice brought me back to reality.
"Ready to go?" Arizona asked, her smile teasing but kind.
I quickly composed myself, nodding. "Yeah, let's go."
As we stepped out into the brisk morning air, I felt a sense of warmth and contentment. The prospect of spending a bit more time with Arizona, away from the pressures of the hospital, filled me with quiet happiness. We walked side by side, our breath visible in the cold, and I couldn't help but feel that this simple coffee outing was the start of something meaningful.
We walked into the cosy café, the warmth inside a stark contrast to the chilly air outside. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the space, and I felt a wave of comfort wash over me. We made our way to the counter, and I glanced at the menu before turning to Arizona.
"I'll have a vanilla latte," Arizona said, her smile never fading.
"I'll go for a matcha latte," I responded, feeling a bit adventurous.
After placing our orders, we found a small table near the window. Arizona slid into a chair, and I joined her, feeling a sense of ease as we settled in.
I couldn't resist a playful comment. "You know, Arizona, you strike me as a vanilla latte kind of person. You remind me of something sweet with that big smile and your dimples."
Arizona's cheeks tinged with a soft pink, and she laughed softly. "Oh, really? I didn't think I had that kind of vibe."
I shrugged, grinning. "It's just the impression I get. Plus, I thought the vanilla latte fit you perfectly."
