**Arizona's perspective**

I arrived at the hospital, feeling the familiar buzz of the morning rush. As I walked down the hallway, I noticed a group of my colleagues-Meredith, April, Jackson, and Alex-standing outside one of the conference rooms, peering inside with a mix of curiosity and frustration.

"Hey, what's going on?" I asked, joining them.

Meredith turned to me, her expression a blend of irritation and disbelief. "That's Eliza Minnick. She's the new residency advisor. Richard's been pushed out."

My eyes widened in shock. "What? Richard's out? How did that happen?"

Alex shook his head, clearly annoyed. "No idea. One minute he's running the program, and the next, she's in there taking over."

I peered into the room, seeing Eliza Minnick talking privately to the residents. She looked confident, even a bit smug. Just then, Eliza glanced up and made eye contact with me, and I quickly looked away.

"Where's Y/N?" Alex asked, breaking the silence. "I haven't seen her in a few days."

"She's at a conference meeting in Boston," I replied. "She should be back tomorrow."

As Eliza continued her speech to the residents, I decided it was time to start my rounds. I didn't want to dwell on this unexpected change, especially not when I had patients to care for.

On the paediatrics floor, I focused on my tasks, filling out charts and checking on my young patients. The rhythm of my work was comforting, a reminder of why I loved my job.

"Dr. Robbins, I presume?" A voice interrupted my thoughts.

I looked up to see Eliza Minnick standing there, a confident smile on her face. "I'm Eliza Minnick, the new residency advisor."

"Yes, I heard," I said, trying to keep my tone neutral. "I'm Arizona Robbins."

Eliza extended her hand, but I was busy with my chart and didn't notice. I quickly moved on to my next task, clearly not interested in engaging.

Eliza, undeterred, followed me. "I've heard a lot about you. Your work in paediatrics is impressive."

"Thanks," I said curtly, focusing on the chart in front of me.

"I'm looking forward to collaborating with you," Eliza continued, trying to make an impression. "I think we could do great things together."

I glanced at her, still not showing much interest. "We'll see."

A flicker of annoyance crossed Eliza's face. "You know, I like girls too."

I raised an eyebrow, not stopping my work. "Oh, okay."

With that, I walked away, leaving Eliza standing there, momentarily lost for words. I had more important things to focus on, and right now, I wasn't in the mood to deal with this unexpected complication.

I was scrubbing in for a standard laparoscopic cholecystectomy on one of my pediatric patients, and my mind focused on the procedure ahead. It was a routine surgery, but every case was important, and I always made sure to give my best.

As I was scrubbing, I noticed Eliza Minnick entering the scrub room. I couldn't hide my surprise. "What are you doing here?"

Eliza smiled, a confident gleam in her eyes. "I'm here to observe and teach in the OR."

I narrowed my eyes. "A resident is not going to be doing a lap chole on a child."

Ignoring my protest, Eliza simply shrugged. "We need to give them real experience."
