We pulled apart.
"Ready?" James asked.
"Yeah!" We ran over the table set for two.
James quickly grabbed my chair, and pulled it out for me. "Thank you!" I sat down.
He quickly sat down.
"Why are dates always across from eachother? I wanna sit next to my date, especially when it's you!" I whined a bit.
James smiled, "I figured you'd say that!" He picked up his chair, and moved it over to me. "Y'know what? Let's move from this table, to that corner booth over there!"
I smile, and grab my gift.
"Hold on! I need to grab something, I hate to leave you here, but I need to grab something!" James ran off.
I looked down at my gift, examining it.
It was a box of goodies. I got a little Chococat bracelet that says best on it, I'm assuming James has one that says friend. There's a bracelet that says, "The L in L+J." With lil hearts. There's a couple keychains, like a Nuka-cola bottle keychain from Fallout 4, a keychain of a rainbow dick because James thinks he's funny, a duck with bisexual and trans colors, and a cow keychain of a stack of ice cream.
There's a ring that has a malachite as the gem. A shirt that says, "Too bisexual to handle this!"
James arrives, a bouquet of flowers, and a card, in hand.
"Here you go!" He hands me the flowers and the card. He grabs my hand, and we walk to the corner booth.
He sits down first, and I follow.
I open the card. James smiles.
"Happy birthday, you cutie! Lee, thanks for entering into my life, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't have even been alive. Shocker, I know! Before we met, I was suffering from depression, as the same as you were. I was close to not even existing anymore, and that's when my intrusive thoughts won, you could say, and I left home to go find you. I never thought that I'd meet the love of my life, I was just expecting a couple dates, and we'd probably only be friends. You helped me, I helped you. Your life was worse than mine, and I didn't want to see you suffer. So I risked my life, just so you could live. Somehow, like a book, I was managed to stay alive. I'm quite grateful I am still here, and I'm grateful you're here too! If you had killed yourself, I would be loss, and back in the state I was in before we met. I'm sure you would also be in the same state if you lost me, if not probably worse. I love you more than the infinite galaxy we live in. I love you far more than that, and I'm happy I met you! Lee, you're the best, happy birthday babe!" I read the card aloud. Tears were oozing out, and they were both happy and sad tears.
"I didn't know you were suffering depression!" I hug James.
"Yeah, a lot of people don't know," he hugged back.
He sat therez hugging, when the waiter came by.
"Hello! Welcome to Mel's diner, what can I get for you two?" The waiter asked.
"Can we get an-"
"Oreo milkshake," I cut James off.
"That's what I was gonna say. Anyway, can we get the Sunrise Sandwich?" James orders
"Yes, for the side?" The waiter vigorously wrote down.
"You choose," James whispered in my ear.
"FRIES!" I answer.
"Ok, anything else?"
"No, I don't think so," I say as I look over at James to confirm. He nods his head in agreement. "Yep, nothing else for now!"
