Kill waved goodbye as they walked towards a donut shop.

Well, more like ran.

James stared, off into space.

I grabbed his hand and walked really fast , to well, I don't know.

I stopped for a second to take a breath. I looked over at James.

"Oh my God, it's that Kill guy!" I heard someone yell, pointing at Kill, which was eating a donut peacefully. "Mom! I told you I wanted to help him, please?"

"You're gonna die, so no." The mom said sternly.

"I want to save him! He deserves it! He's saving James!"

"They're complete strangers. And aren't they part of the LGBTQ+ community?"

"Yes," the kid nodded their head.

"Gross. You're not helping them, and that's final." The mom tugged on the kid's arm.

"I am fourteen! And you know I'm part of that community! I'm gonna save Kill no matter what." The kid yanked their arm back.

"WHAT? I TOLD YOU NO!"

"I can't change who I am! Just for some asshole like you!" The kid yelled back.

"You're grounded!!!"

"No, I am not! I'm going to Kill and telling them that I'm gonna save their life, I don't need your opinion." The kid ran away from their mom.

They tapped Kill's shoulder.

"What? Oh hi!" Kill smiled.

"I'm Ree, and I'm gonna save your life! Oh yeah, he/him on those pronouns please!" Ree offered his hand for a handshake.

"What? Save my life? I'm not dying!?"

"Uhm, well this page says otherwise. Created by Lee Codsworth," Ree showed him his phone.

Kill looked around, and we made eye contact.

I waddled over, James following.

"The fuck is this about?" Kill asked me as he showed me the page I made.

"I wanted to see if a stranger was willing to save your life. And I actually want you to live, so-" I replied.

"I can do it! We have a blood match and everything!" Ree smiled.

"Ree, I don't want you to risk your life to save mine. You're a great kid," Kill said worryingly.

"I don't give a fuck, I've already done what my plans are for life!" Ree continued to smile.

"Your plans could change, y'know?" Kill spoken.

"I just want to get away from this world. And I'm gonna die anyway." Ree looked down, a bit sad. "Doesn't help when your brain doesn't act like a normal kid's, and your mom's gonna kill you because of that."

"WHAT??" I screamed.

"I have ADHD, and I'm bisexual so clearly that means it's my time to die." Ree rolled his eyes.

"Well, you could stay with us?" I offered.

"Running away from my mom ain't gonna do shit. She's gonna find me, one way or another." Ree looked away. "Can't get out of that mess."

"What was your plans in life?" James asked, curious.

"To make my mom mad. Nah, I'm joking. To realize who I am, make sandwiches, make sure my mom doesn't kill me, and meet great people. And in which, those great people got killed." Ree answered.

"Oh." I look down.

There's a sharpie and a note on the ground.

I pick up the note and it says, "Ree, you're awesome, but a fucking ass. Go die.- your worst enemy. P.S., fuck off."

I gasp. Ree looks over.

"Oh, that bitch. She wants to make my world a living hell. AKA my ex-girlfriend." Ree spoke, grabbing the paper from my hands.

He stared at it for a few seconds before ripping it to pieces.

"I guess you can save my life. If you really want." Kill shrugged.

I bring out my phone, and contact the hospital.

I tell them everything, and the change of plans. They agree to do the surgery.

"Ree?" I ask.

"Wassup?"

"Wanna hangout with us before you go get yourself dead?" I offer.

"Uhm, well. I can't. Sorry! My aunt really wants to hang before hand, so there's that." Ree spoke. "I gotta go! I'll be at the hospital when it's time!" Ree waves goodbye.

"Bye!" We all waved bye back.
