"Lisa, I'm in the middle of battling Maddie! Can't this wait?" Her interruption had left both Maddie and I visibly agitated.

"No! It can't! We found something really strange! You've got to come right now!" Lisa exclaimed before bursting back out of the door.

"...Is she okay?" Maddie asked me, with a hugely confused look on her face.

"I don't know," I replied. We eventually followed Lisa out of the gym. Outside, we noticed Mackenzie, Danny, Lisa and a few others including Professor Birch, Buzz and Jordan were crowded around something on the floor.

Upon approaching, I quickly realised it was a Pokemon crawling around. It appeared to be an Aron, however, it was shrouded in a pale pink mist. Its movements were also rather strange and robotic-like. "What's happened to it?" I asked.

"I don't know. We just found him like this," Danny shrugged his shoulders.

"This has got Team Moon written all over it..." Buzz grumbled.

"Don't get ahead of yourself, dad," Jordan put his hand on his father's shoulder.

"Yeah, it's probably wise not to jump to any conclusions." Mackenzie advised.

"May I ask, what are you two wearing?!" Maddie was pointing at Lisa and Mackenzie's Moon shirts with squinted, confused eyes.

"Uh... clothes?" Lisa clapped back sarcastically.

"Guys, now really isn't the time!" Professor Birch scolded. "I've examined this Aron, and for some reason, it appears as though its Move Pool is very, very strange."

"Strange in what way?" Maddie inquired.

"It has several psychic-type moves, despite being a steel type. It is really perplexing, as well as moves that I have not heard of before."

"But you're THE Professor Birch! You know everything there is to know about Pokemon including all the moves they can learn..." Jordan remarked.

Professor Birch shook his head. "There is no way any steel-type Pokemon such as this one can learn these psychic-type moves, and that goes double for the unknown ones I haven't heard of. Its move pool has clearly been tampered with intentionally."

"I knew it!" Buzz piped up, causing Jordan to shush him.

"Who was the one who found it?" Maddie asked.

"It was me," Lisa replied. "Just over there behind that bush." She pointed to a small bush on some grass.

Professor Birch continued. "This is not a Type:Null or anything like that. You can't simply force a Pokemon to learn a move that's not compatible with its typing. Not unless you're some kind of engineer with malicious intentions."

"Buzz is right, my money is on Team Moon." Danny interjected. "They have a dodgy history when it comes to weird experiments on Pokemon."

"Stop accusing Team Moon when you have no idea what's happening!" Lisa yelled.

"They have a dodgy history when it comes to everything." Maddie replied. "So, what are we going to do?"

"I'm going to take this little one back to my lab." Professor Birch replied, sealing the corrupted Pokemon away in a Pokeball. "In the meantime, I suggest you all get back to your gym challenge. Your maximum strength is important for the future of Taldourse."

And with that, he began walking away again.

"Hey, Y/N, should we get back to that battle?" Maddie grinned excitedly.
