Donghyuck and Renjun barely saw each other for the remainder of the week and even then there was no moment they were alone thanks to a certain Lee-Huang Eunbi. The little lady of their home had reached the age where her separational anxiety had kicked in full force, making her dads readjust their daily routine unless they wanted to deal with her endless crying.
Once again it was poor Donghyuck who's got to experience her irritable self and also make her cry by accidentally walking away from her sight while doing his morning chores.
Figuring out that she had to see or touch at least one of her parents to be satisfied and feel safe helped them avoid making her cry.
Donghyuck would stay in bed until she woke up and would carry her around while they got ready for the day and did chores, play with her and then sit her in the high chair so he could cook in peace.
Renjun would take over once he was back from work and get a little clingy toddler attached to him from having missed her papa all morning.
After a similar afternoon the family would dine together once the tan male returned from work and the fathers joined forces to get her ready for bed and put her to sleep.
This last had also proved to be quite tricky as the little lady demanded the presence of both of them, temporarily moving Renjun back to the younger's bedroom again.
On Friday afternoon Donghyuck had called home to inform the older that he would have to stay back late because of an online consultation with a client from overseas, hoping the toddler wouldn't give her papa too much trouble.
He found the apartment dark when he entered but the faint light coming from his room made him sigh before he even entered and saw Renjun propped up against the headboard with his eyes closed and Eunbi on his lap babbling away.
"Why are you two still awake?"
"Dah-dah-dah!" The girl immediately perked up and was ready to crawl to him were it not for the hand holding her still.
Walking closer to give her a few kisses Donghyuck noticed the shorter open one of his eyes and nod towards the bathroom, washing up quickly and taking the toddler to himself.
Renjun immediately curled up on his side to get comfortable and quietly watched the taller lull Eunbi to sleep before placing her into the crib she refused to use without any resistance.
Waiting for a few minutes to make sure she wouldn't wake up the tan male turned off the lights and slipped under the covers behind the older, leaving a goodnight kiss on the back of his neck before falling asleep as well.
A shrill cry had woken them up at an ungodly hour and the shorter felt the body he was cuddling move across his, the weight on the bed shift as Donghyuck was now on the other side of the mattress shushing the toddler.
What must have only been a few minutes felt like hours to the fathers until the room became quiet again and the younger lay back on the bed, falling into the embrace of the other male and passing out instantly.
The next time Donghyuck woke up was to fingers softly raking trough his hair, an unusual brightness and quiet mumbling.
Turning his head and opening his eyes he almost didn't want to believe the sight in front of himself, chuckling breathlessly at the toddler's antics.
"Did we wake you up?" Renjun's voice asked quietly and only then did his brain start to register the position he was in, sprawled out on his stomach like a starfish halfway on top of the older.
"Tell me I'm not dreaming." He mumbled as he pulled himself up on the pillows to remove his dead weight off of the other but keeping his arm and leg thrown over the smaller body.
