Renjun was standing in the doorway as he looked around the almost completed room for his little princess, the pastel green and rose quartz details complimenting the room's previous ivory furniture beautifully. They had attached a bed canopy to the ceiling the day before with some fairy lights to complete the fairy princess theme, and now all he had left was to put the floral stickers to the white wardrobe.
His clothes had been packed as they had agreed to live together until the room was finished despite him having slept in Donghyuck's bed for a few weeks now.
Listening to the baby program playing on the TV in the living room while Mrs Lee was entertaining the toddler he placed the stack of stickers down before wiping the surface with alcohol first.
He hummed softly while enjoying the peaceful work of cutting out the shapes and planning out where to stick each flower.
Donghyuck's mother had been already there when he arrived from work claiming that she had missed her granddaughter and wanted to spend the whole day with her, entertaining the little girl so he could work around the apartment easier.
It was very usual to be able to turn off his brain and not have to think about what the toddler was doing at the moment, if she was hungry or needed to be changed.
The male was so focused on his task that he didn't hear the apartment door or Donghyuck's loud greeting as he came home early that day, yelping in surprise when he noticed the smiling man watching him from the doorway.
"Hyuck! When did you get back? Is it already evening?" He spun around to look for his phone and realize that it was only five in the afternoon, which was way too early for the other to be home.
"I just got back a few minutes ago because my last appointment for the day got called off. Have you been in here all afternoon?" The younger asked as he moved to stand behind Renjun to look at his artwork, earning a nod in return.
"I think we outdid ourselves with this room and there's no way Eunbi's wouldn't like it. And we even got pink details to make it fitting for a princess."
"Now the question is will she actually want to sleep here or is she staying over at our room until she grows up a bit?"
"You might have to let her sleep with you for a while longer when I move out but I'm sure she'll easily get used to having her own room." Renjun said without seeing the expression the male behind him was making at the mention of moving out.
"You're leaving?"
"That's what we agreed on, no? I was to stay until Eunbi's room was set up and then I would get out of your hair and return to my own apartment."
Donghyuck just stared at him with an unexplainable emotion hiding in his chocolate orbs before he sighed and plopped down on the fluffy carpet, motioning for the older to join him.
"I think it's already long overdue but we need to have a talk about all this, about us and whatever the hell has been going on for a while now."
"Mhmm, you're right. Which topic would you like to address first?" Renjun asked as he eyed the door to make sure they wouldn't be disturbed.
"Mom went out with Eunbi for a walk so we're alone and there's no need to be alert. As for where we should start I guess I'll have to make a confession.
I still have your shorts hidden away in one of my drawers." The male said shyly as he scratched the back of his neck making the older burst out in laughter.
"Yah! If you like it that much then I'll buy you a pair too in the right size so your pride wouldn't peek out at every movement."
"See, this is what we also need to discuss because I wouldn't mind that happening if it was around you." The taller confessed making Renjun cough as he was taken aback by the sudden attack.
