One couldn't tell that a tornado ever came through here. It's stunning, minus the few missing buildings. There was no rubbish or trash anywhere. It's amazing how fast they work, whoever they may be.

When the truck came to a stop, Jay got out before walking to my side. My eyes weren't focused on him though. It was focused on all the beautiful stars like lights wrapped around buildings, trees, and posts. They were focused on all the gorgeous people walking in and how happy everyone seemed. I heard a click before I felt the cool breeze outside. It was hot today but the breeze definitely eased the heat.

Jay laid his hand out, waiting for me to take it. He didn't say a word, he didn't really need to. When I placed my hand in his, I nearly purred at the feeling of the electrical shocks that swam through my blood. He smiled and it was a genuine smile which made my smile ten times more real. It's only one thirty so we have quite a while before the event actually starts. Jay found a mask of his own. It was a black wolf mask which made me snicker when I first saw it. Ironic that the most powerful alpha to exist chose a wolf mask for a masquerade event. I heard my truck pull up behind us and smiled, hearing the pretty idling of it. It's not even straight piped, it's all stock to the day it was made.

I, myself, chose a blue raccoon mask. Raccoons are my favorite animal afterall. I laughed when he yanked me out of the truck, gently might I add, before giving me a twirl. Probably tired of waiting for me. My anxiety spiked at all the people here but I knew none of them knew I existed so that eased a bit of it. The dirty looks from some girls walking past who saw us didn't help though. Destinee, Harper, Lomen, Luke, Jake, and Lane all got out, their weapons non existent. Jay knows how to hide things when he wants them hidden. My hair was straightened and my makeup consisted of smokey eyes with highlights in the corners with a neutral color lipstick so I didn't stick out much. Destinee hair was curled and she only had a light orange ombre for eyeshadow and pink lips. She wore a peacock mask that went perfectly with her yellow flowing gown. She looked like an angel. Harper wore pink eyeshadow and no lip stick with her princess-like pink gown. She even had neon pink sneakers on. Destinee just decided to wear black heels and I decided on wearing boots cause why not. Loman's tux was black and pink to match Harpers which made me eye them suspiciously once again. They'll end up together soon, if they aren't already.

I hooked my arm in Jay's and took a deep breath, watching Lane, Jake, and Luke follow behind Jay and I like bodyguards while Harper and Loman walked together. Destinee followed behind those two, utterly alone and I couldn't help but frown at that. I saw Jay look to me and back to Destinee before he gently nudged me.

"Call her up here. She can hold your other arm." I smiled once more, staring at him with admiration.

I turned back around and nodded my head to Dandelion to let her know. She didn't get the gesture at first, only giving me a confused look so I placed my free hand out waiting. Within a moment, she was running to grab my hand, laughing when she finally grabbed it.

"Do you know how hard it is to run in heels?" Her voice was light and hopeful and I prayed to God that this was actually Noah here. This is the happiest I've seen her in a while.

"I bet! I can't say I do know though, I haven't worn them." I wrapped my other arm around her so my left was taken by Jay and my right was taken by her. When we walked through the entrance, most of us stopped in awe. In front of us was a giant ballroom with a band in the front connected to speakers all around us. The walls were decorated and there had to have been a window every five feet that let different colors of sun rays in. It was strange but beautiful. It looked... magical.

I felt Destinee and Jay remove their arms from mine before Jay drew my attention.

"May I have this dance?" He seemed nervous to ask which made this interaction all the more special. I smiled and placed my hand in his. Who would have thought a dance would make this all powerful Alpha nervous. As though he could see what I was thinking, he gently pinched my arm making me laugh.
