So we had tracking devices implanted in us. For someone like Harper and I, Noah explained that it would have been when we were young, as he was in control then and he didn't want us to feel pain. For people like Destinee, who were abducted, they put the chips in before the electric shock therapy. According to Noah, he was held captive for almost two years. Which makes sense because Noah- or Jax- didn't become mean until then.

Noah explains the way the pack used to run. The girls were sent away to different packs but only if they found their soulmate. Otherwise, they joined the Fertile moon pack. However, when Jax took over, he began selling the girls, disregarding whether who he was selling them to were good or bad packs or people. That's when the meetings, as Noah calls it, became a secret fashion show. It makes sense but something doesn't add up.

"So how were you able to talk to me?" I asked, leaning against Jay feeling as though Noah was hiding something.

"Although you weren't accepted into the fertile pack, you grew up there and some people grew attached to you. So much so that since I'm still their alpha, I can feel their bonds, in or outside of packs. Jax would have to kill me to get the bond between alphas and their packs. So using Gio's bond, I pushed through the spiritual boundaries and that's why we both got sick after." My eyes widened before I looked at him. I wasn't the only one either. Everyone was staring at him. How did he know I was sick? It took him a moment to figure out why everyone was staring at him before he shook his head.

"I only know because when I did it with Destinee when I first got captured, Jax came complaining about how she was running a high fever and thinking it was the new chemical formulas he was trying. Before Jax took control, I made sure all chemical injections were safe before using them on the girls. My dad did not... that's how I knew which is safe or not because I went through his documents that he left behind. When Jax took control, he started his own new formulas." That's why they only started dying when they were sixteen. Noah was captured then and Jax started the new formulas.

"I have a question." Jay stated but his voice was cold and his eyes were calculating.

"How did you escape and what do you plan to do now?" It's a good question but the way he asked it told me that he already knows.

"I want my pack back. I got away because not everyone is loyal to Jax and a select few who know I've been held captive let me go. They're hiding from Jax and his pack now so they aren't killed. I intend to make Destinee my Luna and go back to the old ways. Same formulas, no shock therapy, proper care, and once they're twenty one, they can choose to stay in the pack or leave. No one will be killed like Jax was doing." Even as he was saying it, it rubbed me wrong. I frowned before looking up.

"You can't just keep people imprisoned." I whisper. His face fell and looked at me before he looked at Destinee.

"They weren't prisoners during my time. Destinee, I had to take because of our bond. Everyone before or after was either my father or Jax. I never forced the girls to get pregnant or to go through that pain and it wasn't only girls during my time. Boys too. Their parents would either die or need someone to watch them. All children in the pack get the injections either way to keep them healthy and strong. They weren't prisoners, I can assure you. Either way though, it doesn't matter what either of you think. I can do this with your support or without." His voice wasn't cold, it was just a matter of factly... almost like he already had a plan.

"Noah, what are you planning?" Destinee asked, sitting up and turning to look at him. He stayed quiet and shook his head.

"Not until I know if they stand with or against me. It's me or Jax." He has a point. Packs have a tradition. The alpha title is passed down to the Alpha's and Luna's first born child. Jay seemed to think of this for a moment before he nodded.
