"As you can see," the leasing agent says, "the living room is quite spacious and has plenty of natural light."
Benjamin smiles as he looks around the room. He looks up at Noah, "I like the windows. Do you like the windows?"
"Yeah, I do." Noah smiles.
Over the last few weeks, they had been feeling the pressure of finding their first apartment together. But now, after finding time where their schedules aligned during the day, they finally made some appointments and found a place that felt just right.
"They face west!" Ryan, their leasing agent, says. "You'll get beautiful sunsets every evening. Let me show you the kitchen next."
The couple follows Ryan to the kitchen. "Our kitchens come fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher, microwave, and a large fridge. Plenty of counter space for those who love to cook."
Benjamin smiles and looks up at Noah. Noah smiles back, "I like the countertops. And it's really open."
They are shown around the rest of the apartment: a large master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, a guest bedroom, extra storage closets, and another bathroom. The apartment building also has amenities like a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, and lounge area.
After the tour, sitting in Benjamin's car, he shrugs. "What do you think?"
Noah hums. "I think it's a really nice apartment. The last two were..."
"Horrible." Benjamin finishes.
Noah chuckles a little. "It's in our price range. It's only fifteen minutes from our parents."
"A master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom," Benjamin urges on. "With a walk-in closet."
"Mhm," Noah shrugs his shoulders this time. "Should we do it?"
"Should we?" Benjamin smiles.

"Hey, Gabs!" Benjamin yells as he walks into their apartment. "You home?"
Gabi's girlfriend Alexis was sitting on the couch, a bowl of popcorn in her lap. She pushes her glasses up her nose, smiling. "She's in the room changing."
"Oh, okay, thanks," Benjamin sets his bag down. "How are you?"
"I'm doing well! Work has been a bit busy, but Gabi and I have finally found some time to hang out with each other," she smiles. "How about you?"
"I've been good! And I totally understand work being busy. I've been swamped," Benjamin replies before setting his keys down.
Gabi appears in the living room, dressed in her two-piece pajama set. "Benny! Hey, love. It's like...unlikely to ever see you here."
"Yeah, I came back to get some clothes, but I wanted to tell you...Noah and I found an apartment," Benjamin says, unable to contain his excitement about sharing the news.
"Oh my god!" Gabi smiles and jumps on the back of her heels. "I'm so happy for you guys." She runs up and throws her arms around Benjamin.
Benjamin laughs and hugs her back. "If I didn't know any better, I would assume that you're happy I'm moving out."
Gabi backs away and shakes her head. "No, babe! I'm just so happy for you and Noah! You guys have been through so much shit; you deserve some good."
"Well, thank you," Benjamin says. It's a really nice place, and it's within our price range."
"I'm gonna need a tour," Gabi sits on the couch. "When do you move out? Lex and I could help you guys."
"The unit is ready, and we're gonna meet back up with our leasing agent tomorrow, so...within the next week or so. But don't worry about it; you guys don't have to help."
"We want to!" Gabi turns to look at Alexis. "Right? Plus, you guys can get to know Lex a bit more! I'll pay for everything!"
"Okay, slow down." Benjamin holds his hands up. "You're not paying for anything. But, if you really want to, you guys can totally help."
And in true Gabi nature, when Benjamin and Noah got their move-in date, she woke up early in the morning to buy a handful of moving boxes, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches. Noah was already at their place when Gabi started banging on Benjamin's bedroom door. "Wakey, wakey! It's move-in day!"
From the other side of the door, Noah groans and turns around. He grabs a pillow putting it over his head. "What the fuck." He mutters.
Benjamin furrows his brows as he wakes up, reaching over the bedside table to grab his phone. "It's not even our move-in day." He sets his phone down and sighs.
Gabi knocks again. "We have packing to do! Come eat!"
"Will she relent?" Noah asks and moves the pillow from his face. "Will she give up? Or will she keep going until we get up?"
"She won't relent," Benjamin says as he gets up from the bed.
After getting dressed, Benjamin and Noah joined Gabi and Alexis in the kitchen. Benjamin sits on one of the barstools. "Gabs, you know we don't move in until Monday, right?"
"Duh! But you guys need to pack all your things."
"We just signed the paperwork," Noah says as he sits. He reaches forward to grab one of the coffees off the table. "Is this necessary? It's nine in the morning."
Gabi scoffs as she passes the breakfast sandwiches around the kitchen bar. "I am a businesswoman. I love to take initiative, and I want you guys to move in comfortably. Also, please don't be mad, but I bought you guys moving boxes and some housewarming gifts."
"Gabriella!" Benjamin whines. "I told you not to spend any money on us."
"I know," Gabi rolls her eyes. "But I wanted to!"
Benjamin looks at Alexis, who is already four bites deep into her sandwich. "You couldn't stop her?"
Alexis stops chewing. "You've known her longer than me," she chews some more before swallowing. "You didn't know she would've done it anyway."
Noah snorts at that and takes a bite of his own sandwich. Benjamin sighs and decides to let it go. "Okay...okay, fine. And thank you so much."
