Vlad

"This was officially my first day of assisting Kayro. Our first encounter last night was surprisingly good and unexpected. I was rather curious to see if things would be the same today.

I quietly enter his chamber. Looking around, I notice that the curtains were already opened and his clothes were scattered all over the place. That was a little odd, but not that surprising. Masters were usually messy.

In the bed was just a big lump of sheets; it looked like a war had taken place in there. And then there was the prince, sleeping like a starfish in the middle of it, breathing peacefully, probably dreaming of something beautiful.

I find myself analyzing his features. He is still handsome. Then my gaze goes down to his partly covered body. You can tell he is a healthy young man, with a fit upper body, lean defined muscles, and from what is visible of his stomach, I can tell there are nice abs underneath.

A small twitch of his face brings me back to what I have to do: wake up this sleeping beauty.

My work mask on, I approach the bed and try a small greeting first. "Good morning, Kayro." Nothing. I try again, same result. I lean over the bed, get closer to him, and repeat it again. Still nothing.

It seems I have to step up my game, so this time, along with speaking, I gently place my hand on his shoulder and try nudging him a bit.

He is soft and warm, but I don't get to think too much about it, because all of a sudden he grabs my hand, pulls me toward him, and presses his body against mine. His arms wrap around me in a bear hug, holding me tightly, his head near my neck, and his morning voice whispers in my ear:

"Come here, you! This is where you belong!"

I am stunned. Our second meeting, and just as surprising as the first. No—scratch that. This is even more surprising than last night.

I have no idea what to do or say, so I just stay still, barely breathing.

And as if something clicks in Kayro's head, he lifts himself up, looks at me confused, with a slight furrow on his pretty face.

His morning eyes are absolutely breathtaking, and I could swear that for a split second I saw repulsion in them, but I don't pay it any mind.

I can almost hear the wheels turning in his mind, and then he relaxes his expression instantly. In a small, embarrassed voice he says:
"I-I'm sorry, Vlad. I must have mistaken you for... I-I was still dreaming... I'm sorry."

He is awkwardly apologizing.

"You do not have to apologize, Kayro," I tell him immediately. "I should be sorry for not knowing how to appropriately wake you up," I add. "I will go and prepare the bathroom for you," I continue, lifting myself off the bed and proceeding to do what I said.

That was so embarrassing, but I felt like I was missing something, and I didn't know what. I'll leave it for now. I just need a little time to get used to Kayro; he is definitely nothing like the other masters I served.

The day went by rather quickly. Kayro has a lot of things to do apart from the usual eating and socializing with the other members of the castle. He studies, practices close combat, and trains his ability—he can manipulate water. He also loves horse riding, which he does every day.

He sometimes calls me to accompany him while studying or having tea with different family members.

I haven't seen his parents yet, only his two younger sisters, who are spitting images of him—absolutely gorgeous both of them.
