Vlad

My breath had been taken away. To see my sweet and amazing angel like this was crushing my heart.

He was so beautiful still... I did not care about anything else... he was mine nonetheless.

Oh my love.... What have I done?

I kept looking at him, my hearts strings pulling as hard as possible, tears running down my face and small sobs escaping me.

"Calum, I am so sorry.... I am so sorry, my love!" I said between sobs, not able to look away from him. His hair was so white, but still looked silky.

My hand went to touch it, to caress a closer strand of hair. I wanted to connect with him somehow, to make this real. But...my hand just went through it.

This was so unexpected and the shock made my forget about my grieving.

"What is... this?" I questioned shocked, while still trying to touch him...anywhere, but it was just going through. His hair, hand, I even tried kissing him, maybe my hand was not working right... but it was no use... I could not touch him.

There was no time to process anything as shouts were heard from the living room.

My curiosity got the best of me and decided to leave the mystery of not being able  to touch Calum for later, he was definitely not going anywhere.

I carefully got up and went to the door, then I tried to push it with my hand, but lo and behold... I couldn't... it went through it too, just like it had with Calum.

What was going on in here? Oh well..if this was how things worked, let's do it.

I went through the door and that was such a weird feeling, mentally I mean, because otherwise I got nothing. Behind the door were the twins, having a fight or an intense conversation.

"Come on, Corvina, let's just go and be done with this." Corvinus was winning while drinking a hot tea and munching on some chocolate chip cookies.

Are those the cookies Calum made?! I wondered astonished. How are you not embarrassed, sir? Eating the dead man's food!

"I am not leaving this place without their bodies... they need to be made an example, so everyone knows nobody can cross us without paying the price." Corvina replied walking around like a caged animal, furious and calculating how to kill its pray if it would escape.

"You already know that they are all scared of us. Calum was just plain stupid to think he would have gotten away with it so easily." Corvinus said nonchalantly. "I suggest we just burn this place down... it would be a spectacle." He added and his eyes were glittery at the idea, gesturing with his hands an explosion.

I gasped loudly when I heard that, because this house was made by Calum, he worked hard for years to make it... and this deranged individual just wants to turn it to ash. I instantly regretted my reaction, afraid that I might have attracted their attention, but somehow... they have not noticed me.

Hmmm... I wondered... could they hear me? Could they... see me?

I had to find out, and there was only one way to do it. Praying that my hunch was correct, I stepped forward into the room and cleared my throat.

  Nothing.

"So... who do we have here?" I asked mockingly, maybe they would hear my voice and react in someway.

  Nothing.

These findings made me braver, so I went in front of Corvinus and waved my hand in his face.
