"Ooooww... now isn't this sweet!" Corvina mocked, clapping her hands, standing in the middle of the door. "A traitor and an useless should have already been dead slave" she snapped, her gaze throwing daggers at us.

With unknown energy and speed I stood up and covered Calum with my hands, body and covers, wanting to protect him from her gaze and threats, while fear was slithering in my bones, my marrow getting as cold as ice from the realization that this was real, she was in front of me in flesh and blood.

"No.... please!" I just mumbled, shaking my head, pleading her to leave us alone I think, I wasn't sure, but I knew whatever she wanted from us was nothing pretty. I was already paranoid from lack of sleep, food and Calum's recovery so my mind was definitely not on the same page with me.

A booming laugh filled the room and I knew right that moment.... It will end soon, someway or another.

"You're not only useless, but stupid too." I heard a snickering second voice coming from behind Corvina and I would recognize that malice and disgust it carried on any day. Corvinus appeared only a second later, an evil smile plastered on his face, looking as smug as ever, we always being beneath him.

If I wasn't so petrified, maybe I would have noticed that they weren't alone, other footsteps and noises were heard around the house, some from the opening cabinets and others from glasses or plates being broken. But it was background noise, my senses zeroed in on the twins and their every move, not knowing what to expect from them.

"H-how?" I whispered and oh my soul I was embarrassed of how little I could hide my emotions and state of mind.

The twins had entered the bedroom, each going in opposite directions and two other mercenaries followed them, cornering us. We were surrounded by them and I may not know their true intentions, but I could bet my life it was nothing good.

"Let's say it was a process. Do you remember the group of slaves Calum the traitor skillfully helped a while back?" Corvinus asked, now sitting with his legs crossed on the bench near the window, that smirk never leaving his face. It was obvious we were worse than dirt for him and we must have bothered his plans to entertain himself in some brothel, but his words ringed a bell in my mind.

"Slaves..." I whisper more for myself, remembering the day we were coming here and Calum hid me in the woods to find more about the mysterious approaching group.

"Ah...yes. The boy with the broken leg actually was a spy, unknown to him of course, because we couldn't risc him blowing our plan. He planted a tracking spell on Calum while he tended to his leg." Corvina further explained, walking up closer to us, her gaze not rising from Calum's form. I tried covering him as best as I could, but her eyes were like looking through me, like I was not even there.

"We narrowed down Calum's location, but we couldn't pin point it, because of the protection spells he used around this area. But when he broke the blood oath we made, which by the way, it's a miracle it didn't kill him and shattered his core, I knew exactly where he was and once his magic started vanishing it was just a walk in the parc to come here." Corvinus finished explaining, not bothered to show how displeased he was to be here.

"For fucks sakes Corvina, let's get this over with and go, I am so tired and dirty and I want to be fucked already." Corvinus started complaining as if he was the victim here. My mouth opened when hearing his whining, my already head cracking even more. Is he for real? I might die and Calum's state is uncertain and he cares about sex?? Oh my soul, he is the worst...or at least as bad as Vorloys, Kayro's father.

"Shut the fuck up, Corvinus!" Corvina suddenly yelled, turning her head to look at him and she was angry, it was too obvious to miss. "It all began with you, you fucking idiot. The day you went missing to have a fucking orgy was the day I planned to trap Calum, but we had to split up and search for your sorry ass. And once he left you at HQ, he vanished." she said screaming her lungs out and I was glad I was not on the receiving end of her furry. "So stop bitching!!" she ended her angry rant and then directed her attention to us, looking at me and them at Calum.
