We arrived at the school in no time at all. Stupid Megan. Always in my way. Oh, well. I think I’ll just talk to him later.
I got out of the car and start to walk away from them. “Hey, Mandy. Where are you going?” Neptune asked me.
“To my first class. Why? Do you need something from me?” I wondered. Megan giggled. She is such a bitch.
“No, we just want to see you watching us you know...flirt” Megan answered.
“Oh, I’m not asking you, Megan. So, if you can excuse me” I smiled. 5 points for me, 0 for Megan. Haha.
I started to walk towards my locker to get all my things. But when I opened my locker, all of my stuffs are destroyed. My eyes widened and I immediately searched for my father’s picture. It’s the only picture of him left. I can’t afford it to be gone.
“Are you searching for this, Mandy?” A guy behind me asked. I turned and saw Justin holding the picture up in the air while smiling.
“Give that back to me, Justin! You know how important that picture is!” I told him. His face turned serious.
“But my sketch pad was important for me too! It’s the only thing that makes me happy. But did you help me when they destroyed my drawings? No! You know why, because you became selfish! You’re just thinking about yourself. You didn’t even go out from where you are hiding! Do you know how much it hurts me when I knew you just stood there watching? No you didn’t, because you only feel what yourself feels. You don’t care about others!” He exclaimed and started to burn the picture.
“No! Why did you do that!?” I asked him, crying while trying to put out the fire. His eyes showed so much emotions, Anger, Sadness, Pity. But he just stood there, doing nothing. Just like what I did when he needed me. Now he’s trying to give me a revenge. While all off the school is watching. Laughing, pointing at me.
The picture was burned . My father's face isn’t visible anymore. More tears flowed down my cheeks. No picture of my dad. I treasured it with all my life and it’s all gone.
They left me alone. Justin just stood there, smirking at me. I felt anger in my heart. “Now you know how it feels when there is no one to help you. Alone, ashamed, destroyed. And sorry about your dad’s picture. I didn’t mean to burn it. But, oh well. At least I got my revenge.” He smiled.
“Are you happy now, Justin? Having your revenge with me? Are you?” I said, my lips quivering.
“Oh yes. Very happy. I’m so glad. You know while I’m looking at you while you cry, my heart jumps for joy. See ya, Mandy.” He waved goodbye turning away. Leaving me. I stood up, walking towards the bathroom to fix myself. It's the second time I cried in front of everyone. As I got out of the bathroom. I saw Neptune leaning on the wall. Looking at me.
“Are you okay, Mandy?” He asked me, whispering. I feel like crushing him. How could he be this stupid.
“Do you think I’m okay, Prince Charming!?” I yelled at him.
“No, I think you need this.” He said, offering me his handkerchief. I walked towards him and snatched his hankie away from his hands. Wiping my tears away. It smells nice. He smiled at me. I leaned on the wall beside him.
“You know, Mandy? I have this mission to find this girl and try to make her fall in love with me. In just one year. I don’t know how can I do it though” he confessed. Why is he telling me this? What do I care about that girl anyway. Oh, Mandy. Yes you care because you like Neptune. That why you’re like that because your jealous of the girl he’s talking about! I thought.
“I don’t know why I’m telling you this. Maybe it’s because I trust you more than any other girl here?” He said, and sighed.
“Why? Haven’t you been in love before?” I asked him.
It’s rare seeing him this serious you know. Not that guarded Neptune I always see. “No. I don’t even know what is love. Do you?” he asked me, eyes sparkling.
“Well, I’ve been in love before.” I answered, looking at him.
“What is it like? Is it fun? Happy?” He asked, smiling. Really smiling at me. He seems really interested that I even forgot we’re in school.
“Well, love is fun and happy. You have someone with you. Like they’re your other half. But, sometimes, love isn’t just making each other happy. You’ve got to accept all the consequences with it. So, I gotta tell you that your mission isn’t that real easy.” I told him. He sighed.
“Thanks for letting me know some stuff about love. I’m also researching about it. I’m getting many things about it really. I still have 10 months. I hope I can make it.” He said, looking at the floor. I placed my hand on his shoulder, making him jump because of shock.
“I know you can do that, Neptune. Good luck. I hope you can make her love you” I smiled at him.
“Thank you, Mandy” and the bell rang. Second class. Wait I forgot to ask him something.
“Hey, Prince Charming!” I screamed. He jogged up to me.
“Yeah?” he asked. Slipping his hands in his pockets.
“Umm, I just wanna ask about those Lacoras...I know you didn’t invent them...” I stuttered, looking down. He shrugged.
“Ugh. You don’t wanna give up do you? Okay. 9:00 pm sharp, Wendy’s Burger.” He said. Looking straight into my eyes, those violet eyes striking me. It’s like he already reached my soul or something. “Okay. Be ready. You might wanna go to your class now.” He said, turning around.
"I am the one who removed you from detention. Just so you plan to ask Mr. Edison. Don’t flatter yourself to much in the thought that we’re okay now. We’re friend yes, but I still don’t like you” He explained, laughing to himself.
“I guess I need to deal with his attitude if I’m going to be his friend” I whispered to myself. At least we’re okay now. That’s fine with me. As long as we can talk and he’ll explain what those Lacoras really are. He’s a strange guy. He’s the kind of guy you wanna slam down the floor, but you keep on liking him. Or maybe it’s just me. Oh, well. Gotta go to class now.
