        My way back home is pretty boring. Since Bethany and Matthew became a couple, Beth had been spending a lot of time with Matthew. A lot. I can’t blame her anyway. It’s her dream to be Matthew’s next girlfriend. Who wouldn’t be happy if your crush became your boyfriend? If I was Matthew, I won’t ever, ever leave Bethany. She’s the best girlfriend you’ll ever have. And plus, she makes amazing baked mac.

    I saw Matthew’s sports car stopped beside me, and Bethany rolled her window down to invite me in. “Hey, Madie! Join for a ride today. I begged Matthew to!” she smiled.

       I’m surprised that he let me ride his car. Let alone be Beth’s boyfriend. Not that it’s impossible. It’s just that... it’s hard to trust a guy like him. Oh, well. I rode the car and sat in the backseat.

     “Thanks for the ride, Matthew” I smiled at him.

     He quickly shook his head. “Don’t thank me, Mandy. Thank your best friend right here. She keeps on begging me to give you a ride. I can’t say no because it’ll make her sad.” He said rolling his eyes. Make her sad, huh? I bet he’s just doing that to impress Bethany. Stupid guy.

     “Okay. I’ll just thank you later, Beth. Anyway I need to call you to tell you something” I said, looking at Beth.

     “Why tell it on the phone? Why not now, Madie? I mean, I’m just right here” she laughed.

     “Yeah I know that. But really need to say this in private. I really need some alone time with you.” Wanting Matthew to hear. Why can’t me and my best friend just have our own time. I know they are together, but I’m her best friend for years. They’re just together for a month.

     Bethan laughed and took Matthew right hand and intertwined it with hers. “Okay, Keep on saying that. I will steal more time from you and share my whole day with Beth” Matthew chuckled. I can’t help but laugh with him.

    Who knew he can be funny and just a cozy guy. I knew it. Guys are really nice if they're not with their friends. I can't understand why do they have to be full of themselves when they're with their group. And they would be tamed-puppies when they're around their girlfriends. It's so irritating.

     "You're so lucky your crush noticed you know, Beth. You even became couples." I sighed, wondering where did that thing come from.

     "You're starting to be melodramatic, Madie. You'll find your soul mate soon. Oh he's actually here anyway." she giggled.

     "Who!?" I demanded, started feeling guilty.

     "Neptune Witherston. Actually, we've been talking about you these days. Even though you act like you hate him, we all know that you love every part of him." Matthew smirked. That surprised me. Them? Talking about me? No way.

     "No. And I just hated him at first. I thought he's this jerky student. But he's nice. And I could be his friend." I answered, with edge in my voice.

     "The edge, Madie. The edge-y voice you use means it's not true." Beth said, which is true.

    I can't believe she knows that too. She's really my best friend. "Just promise me you'll be good to my best friend, Matthew. I can't afford to see her cry. I promise I'll kick your ass and slap you in the face." I explained to him. He only laughed. "Oh, girls." he smiled. What about us?

                                                  ~ +++ ~

   The next day, the school decided to talk about the dance that is coming up. That also means I need a partner and chosen students are going to perform. Luckily, I'm also one of the chosen people. How stupid.
