Background
Sakura was once a rogue child, being one of many children without homes and families. At the age of twelve, Sakura entered the Soul Reaper Academy and graduated at the top of her class. Sakura's strength has skyrocketed since her school years, and she has been one of few who are specialized in both healing and fighting. Many have recommended she become a captain, get few of the captains have acknowledged her strength due to her age. Very few, including Toshiro Hitsugaya, believed in her when she became lieutenant of Squad 4, the weakest squad when it comes to fighting.
Years before Toshiro and Sakura started interacting, Zaraki Kenpahi challenged Sakura to a battle. The battle lasted three days, and Sakura walked away unscatched. Many requested for her to replace Zaraki, but Sakura denied.
