I woke up with a start from yet another nightmare. I got up and went to sleep on the couch thinking that it would help ease my anxiety. I fell back asleep. I woke up the next morning and got ready for work. When I arrived at the office I noticed that I was the first one in. I went to my desk and started going through the case files that were on my desk. As I was sitting there working I heard the front of the office door open. I continued to do research for the next lockdown. It was the Myrtle Plantation. I was so into all of the research that I didn't notice Zak came into the office. I felt a hand on my shoulder and it made me jump out of my skin. I heard laughter behind me. I turned to see Zak. He said "I'm sorry I scared you." I said "its fine i was just not paying attention." What he didn't know was that I was getting a reading of the place before we did our lockdown. Zak asked "Is everything ok Amy? You look like you're not getting much sleep at night." I said "aye it nothing to worry about." he nodded. I handed him the files I had on the plantation. Aaron, Billy and Jay came into the office and asked "Where are we heading for the next investigation? I said "Lousisana" Zak said "haunted plantation." Aaron said "Sounds like fun." Billy said "we can try out some of the new equipment." I thought to myself this should be interesting for my first lockdown with this group. I will have to be sure to bring the cleansing sage and protection oils. As they were discussing the plan I zoned out trying to get my curse under control. Jay asked "what are those around your neck Amy they look old?" I said "the one is a celtic cross, the other is a protection amulet from my homeland." I looked away not liking the attention me. Jay asked "Scotland?" I said "Aye" I didn't like where this was going. Zak said "Guys leave her alone" I said "its fine Zak he was just asking about the protection I wear. I've seen things that I wish I hadn't. I am also not very open about it." Aaron asked "what are the highlands like?" I said "peaceful, it's a land that is dipped in legends of the land. I would hike through the hills and explore the different castles there when was a lass." I leaned back in the chair. Billy asked "so you been to the haunted places?" I nodded and said "I never went looking for it. Having grown up with the legends, i respected the the myths surrounding my homeland." Everyone nodded. Zak said "why don't we go grab some lunch and get to know Amy some more."
