Chapter 5

By the end of the week I was totally exhausted from not sleeping to well but I knew this weekend we had an investigation to do so I packed my cleansing stuff along with my cloths. I never took off my amulet and cross but I knew that I would have to meditate before so that I can put up any protection barriers that were needed. Today we were all leaving for the plantation. I was sipping a cup of herbal tea while waiting for the others to pick me up. I was sitting on my couch when there was a knock on the door. I placed the cup in the sink and went to the door. When I opened the door I found Ashley and Jay. Jay asked "Are you ready for your first lockdown?" I said "as ready as I'll ever be." I grabbed my bags out of the living room. Ashley said "Here let me help you" she came into the living room and looked around before grabbing the bag. I knew that she and I would be needing to talk later but I got the feeling that I could trust her and Jay. I hadn't made my mind up about everyone else yet. We got into what looked like a big bus type of RV. I hadn't gotten much sleep lately so I was a little tired. Ashley must have noticed. She pulled me to the back of the RV where there was a bed. Once we were back there she said "I know that we just met but I know that you haven't been getting much sleep" I said "its nothing lass." She said "it's not nothing Zak and everyone is worried about you." I said "promise me lass you won't tell anyone." Ashley said "I promise now tell me what is going on." she shut the door to the room we were in. I took a deep breath and said "I'm what they call a sensitive, or gifted. I can see and talk to spirits. I'm also a healer. I can also sense energy of the paranormal and tell weather or not it is demonic or not..... I call it a curse because i suffer from anxiety and panic attack along with horrible nightmares. I do all I can to protect myself and that includes cleansing my house and myself. I also meditate." Ashley said "you have to tell them..... They will find out eventually." I said "I know but i have to do it on my own..." Ashley said "I understand why don't you get some rest while we drive. If it makes a difference I think your gift will be helpful. I know the guys will be impressed." I nodded and laid down. I said "Ashley, you can tell jay since you are married. But I will tell the rest when I'm ready." she nodded and left the area. I laid there and cleared my mind. I soon fell asleep. A few hours later I was woken up by Aaron. Aaron asked "are you ok?" I said "aye i'm fine." Aaron said "you know you can always talk to me about anything I know you are not sleeping and you are keeping something but I am not going to push you into telling me I want you to be able to trust me." I said "Aaron it's going to take me time to trust again it's not you trust me I like you and your personality but there are things that I have to be able to trust people with and it's never been easy for me to open up." He nodded and sat down with me. I pulled out something that I brought with me it was a bundle of sage and a shell to burn it in. I said "I use this after every investigation that i do weather on my own or not so if you see me step away im doing a cleansing." Aaron said "it's ok to be different Amy. but i just wish you would open up a little more to us." I said "I do trust you but some things are just meant to stay hidden until the time is right." He nodded and I put my stuff back away. Aaron got up and left me to my thoughts. I found that this was the perfect time to meditate to get my head ready. I was deep in meditation when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and saw Ashley. Ashley said "we are at the hotel if you want to go to a room. I told Jay about what we talked about earlier." I got up and walked into the hotel. Zak said "Amy you and I are sharing a room." I thought to myself oh shit. He is going to find out about this curse." I said "that's ok i can get a room we don't need to share." I was starting to panic. I don't need him or anyone finding out about the nightmares and the anxiety attacks. Zak said "I want to make sure you are ok after the investigation just in case something attaches itself to you." I said "Zak, I use cleansing herbs so that it doesn't happen." I knew this was a losing battle so I said "Aye just this once we can share but no questions about anything you might hear during the night." He nodded as we went up to our rooms to get settled. Once in the room I laid my stuff on the bed before looking around. Zak said "we have to go do interviews before dinner." I said "ok" we then walked down to the lobby where we met everyone.
