Chapter 8

I was surprised to find that I slept better with Sage beside me. Everytime my anxiety picked up Sage curled up closer and I would pet her. The next morning when I got up I realized that I had to go to work today so I guess I was taking Sage with me because it would help with my anxiety around the guys. I got up and took Sage out to the garden to go to the bathroom. I fed Sage her dog food and went to take a shower. Once I was out of the shower I braided my hair and put on a pair of jeans and a green shirt. I put on a pair of running shoes. I went back down stairs and put stuff for Sage in my big purse. I made sure to take her water dish and a few toys just so that nothing got chewed on. I put on Sage's harness and leash. I grabbed a bottle of water, a pop tart and took sage out to my car. Once she was settled in the car and I locked the house. I got into the car and drove to the office. I realized that I was running late. Once I got to the office I grabbed my bag and the Sage out of the car. I rushed into the office with sage in tow. I saw the guys staring at me. I said "I'm sorry I'm late, I overslept and then I had to take her out" looking at sage. Jay came up to me and asked "I guess she helped you sleep." I nodded my head yes. Aaron started playing with sage and she seemed to like him. Zak must have been in his office. Aaron said "Amy you can bring this cutie anytime." I said "thanks Aaron she's been a big help." I took sage into the office with Zak was. I said "sorry i'm late..." Sage started to bark. I looked at her and "shh little one it's ok." I sat at my desk and set her up near my desk. She laid right next to me. Zak walked over to me and bent down and said "she's adorable Amy. can I pet her." I said "Aye she is turning out to be one of the best things that has happened to me and she seems to take a liking to you." sage rolled on to her back to get belly rubs from him. Zak said "its ok if you need to bring her into the office." I said "thank you Zak it won't happen all the time." Zak put a hand on my shoulder and said "I don't mind having her here. She seems to have taken a liking to the team." I said "Jay and Ashley brought her by last night and I was surprised that she went to Aaron earlier." Zak said "Aaron gets along with Gracie." I smiled at that. Sage had settled down by my chair. I said "Jay and Ashley started the paperwork to try to get sage certified for an emotional support dog." Zak asked "what do you mean?" I took a deep breath and said "I have anxiety attacks and panic attacks at night. But having Sage last night around I actually slept for the first time in a long time. She helped with them not be as bad as they have been." Zak said "that's why you have been so tired coming into the office." I nodded. Zak said "i know it's hard with this job but please don't hide when you have an attack and if it helps I can see if you would be able to bring Sage when we travel at the hotels. When we do the lockdowns have Bacon or Ash watch her." I said "Really you would do that?" Zak said "of course I want you to be comfortable at night." I smiled. Zak walked back to his desk. I was sitting there going through a file for the next investigation and I got a bad feeling about it. It is called "the island of the dolls' ' I hated dolls. I took the file over to Zak while he was working on reviewing some visual evidence. Sage followed me. I placed the file down on the desk. Zak looked over to the file. I was going back to my desk when the door opened. Aaron and Jay both came in with their evidence. Aaron gave zak the recorder and asked "Amy can I take Sage for a walk?" I smiled at him and said "sure" I handed Aaron the leash." Sage looked happy with him. They walked out of the office. I continued to work on the files. One file was on a few locations for Ireland. I heard of these places. Sage came back and I pulled out her bowl for water out of my bag and set it down for her. I also pulled out the bottle of water that I grabbed this morning. I filled her bowl and placed it down in front of her. She soon laid down, tired from her walk. I was working on something when my anxiety started to get really bad. Sage got up and got in my lap. I ran my fingers through her fur.
