I sit down across from my dad as he searches for files on rogues they've dealt with recently.

He grabs the folder and slides it to me. "We dealt with this one a month ago, but luckily we ran them off" He said.

I read the file about what happened.

It was a single rogue and they didn't cause any trouble, but they were by the lake where Alana and I always go.

"I don't like that" Ajax said.

Neither do I.

"Did they get close to the house?"

Dad sighs. "No, but he stood at the edge of their backyard" He said making my hackles raise.

"I'll fucking tear him apart if he goes near our girl" He threatened.

I feel Ajax coming forward, wanting to take over but I have to stay in control.

Calm your ass down. I don't like this either, but you can't fly off the handle.

"Has there been any more incidents with this rogue?"

He shook his head. "No, it was just that time and we chased him off, not stopping until he passed way beyond the pack border" He said.

"I still don't like this, something feels off to me" Ajax said.

"That's good, but I'm still a little uneasy. Can we add some guards to patrol around their house?"

Dad smiles at me. "You can do whatever you want, it's your pack now" He said.

I smiled back. "Thanks dad. I'm hoping this is just a coincidence, but just in case I want the Hastings protected."

He nodded. "Of course. Do you want to tell Alana about this?"

I shake my head. "No. Like I said I think it's just a coincidence, but with extra guards everything should be fine."

He nodded. "I understand" He said.

There's a knock on the door and I turn around to see my good friend Max.

We kept in contact when I was at alpha training, but it's good to see him in person.

I get up and go over to greet him.

"Well look what the wolves dragged in" He wrapped me in a hug and we patted each other's backs.

I pull away to look at him. "How you been man?"

He grinned. "Been good, just enjoying life with my mate" He said.

"Oh yeah, how's Carly doing?"

"She's good, she actually works with your girl" He said.

Alana's family owns a bookstore in town and now that she's old enough, she took it over.

"That's great man, I want to talk to you and the guys, could you gather up everyone?"

He nodded. "Yeah, they're all on the field practicing, why don't we head that way so you can check out the warriors too" He suggested.

"That sounds like a good idea."

"Alright, let's go" He said.

I tell my dad goodbye and I'll talk with him later.

We walk through grounds and I look around and see different things I'd like to fix.

I see a lot of people I haven't seen since I left and some new pack members I have to get to know.
