JAY ENTERS MAL AND EVIE'S DORM IN A AURADON TOURNEY JERSEY. Carlos and Willow sat in the floor with Dude, the campus mutt that Ben helped Carlos get used to, when he walked in, showing off his new jersey. Jay walked up to Mal, "Are you going to see the wand?"
"Do you think that I would be going through every single spell in this book if I hadn't completely struck out?" she asked him.
"Someone's in a bad mood." says Carlos.
"My mom's counting on me! I can't let her down!" Mal retorted, her tone worsening.
"At least your mom don't plan on locking you away for the rest of your life." Willow tells her, slumping against the bed and closing her eyes. "We can do this!" Jay says, ". . . if we stick together."
"And we won't go back until we do," Mal says, "Because we're rotten . . ."
". . . to the core." they all say in unison.
"Oh, yeah," Evie clears her throat, "I found out that Fairy Godmother blesses Ben with the wand at coronation and we all get to go. I have nothing to wear, of course."
There was a knock on the door. Mal got off her bed and walked over to the door, opening it and revealing Ben. "Hey, Mal," he greeted and scanned the room with his eyes, "I didn't see some of you guys today. I was just wondering if you had any questions or anything that you needed."
"Not that I know of." Mal replied, looking back at her friends who didn't say anything. "Okay, alright," he says, clasping his hands together, "Well, if you need anything, just . . ."
"Oh. Wait!" Willow calls from the floor. Mal moves out of the way so the future king could get a better look at the girl, "Uhm, is it true we all get to go to your coronation?"
"Yeah, the whole school goes," he replies with a kind smile.
"That is beyond exciting," Mal comments, "Do you think it's a possibility that the five of us could stand in the front row next to the Fairy Godmother, just so we could soak up all that goodness?"
Ben frowned, "I wish you could. Up front it's just me, my folks, and my girlfriend." A feeling swelled up in Willows stomach.
"And your girlfriend?"
"Yeah. I'm sorry."
"Okay, thanks. Byeeee." she closed the door as he tried to finish saying something and she turned toward her friends. "I think it's time Bennyboo gets himself a new girlfriend." Mal grinned widely, "And I need a love spell."
Carlos tosses her the book.
IN THE HIGH SCHOOLS KITCHEN; EVIE, MAL, JAY, CARLOS, AND WILLOW WERE GATHERED, MAKING A BATCH OF LOVE POTION COOKIES. "Alright, it says that we still need one tear, and I never cry," says Mal as she stands in front of a mixing bowl, mixing the cookie dough.
