WILLOW RETURNED TO THE CASTLE TO HANG OUT WITH BEN BEFORE EVERYONE MET UP AT THE ENCHANTED LAKE FOR JANE'S BIRTHDAY BASH. Entering his room, she found him standing at the window, staring out at the Isle of the Lost.
She closed the door behind her quietly so she didn't scare him. He turned around the sound of the door shutting a small smile formed on his face at his new fiance. "Hey," he greeted, turning forward to face her. She returned the small smile as she walked up to him and pecked his lips, "Hey. You doing okay?"
"Yeah," he breathed out, wrapping his arms around her waist as she wrapped hers around his neck, "It's just . . . I had this dream and it failed."
"I know," she said, frowning, "Your dream was absolutely beautiful, Ben. It forever will be, but some dreams just aren't meant to come true." He looked at her and nodded, knowing she was right. He raised a hand, moving a piece of hair out of her face. "Are you okay?" he asks her.
She sighs softly but nods, "I'm upset that we have to do this. I mean, we were given a chance and now . . . we can't give anyone else that chance. It just doesn't seem fair." she admitted, feeling more hesitate by the minute about closing the barrier for good. He pulled her closer and she leaned her head against his chest. "It's not fair but, what did you say?" he asks her softly, looking down at her.
She looks up at him and sighs, "As King and Queen our people come first, no matter what," Ben nods at her and places a kiss against her forehead.
"You're going to be an amazing Queen," he tells her, caressing her face. She smiles softly and stares up at him through her bangs, "I really love your hair like this," he says, playing with a strand making her giggle, "It suits you."
She looks away as she hugs him tightly, standing on her tippy toes. "Now," she pulls away, keeping her hands on his shoulders, "time to get ready for Jane's birthday bash. Meet you there?"
"Yup. Got a few things to do before I get there, but I definitely will be." he tells her.
"Okay," she whispers and leans up, placing a kiss against his lips, "I love you."
"I love you, too." he tells her. She continues to smile at him as she turned around and walked out of his room. He sighed softly and turned back around, looking out the window at the Isle.
JANE'S BIRTHDAY BASH WAS THAT VERY SAME DAY. So once all the descendants got ready, they met in the kitchen of the cottage they all shared, all except Willow who was on her way from Ben's. "Morning. Got the beach towels!" Carlos announced as he entered the kitchen. Jay was packing a picnic box as Evie entered as well. On the edge of the island was a cake for Jane but a corner was cut from it.
"I really think she's gonna like the cake, you guys," Carlos says, rounding the island to look at it. And that's when he noticed the missing piece. Knowing it wasn't his friends who took it, he looked upon the five new VK's. "Oh, no. Okay. Who got into Jane's cake?"
