"JAY, KEYS, REMOTE." Ben says as he tosses the boy the keys and remote to the limousine and the barrier. They all jogged down the stairs and headed toward the limousine. "Wait. Something's wrong," Evie stopped all of them. She stepped up to Ben and pulled his beanie down more on his head.
"Shotgun!" a voice yelled. They all looked to Dude, the school mutt, who stared up at Carlos. Everyone's eyes, except for Carlos's, widened. Shocked. "No, Dude. You're staying here," says Carlos, unphased.
"Did he just . . ." Rey trailed off.
"Talk? Yeah, I know. I'll tell you later." Carlos tells them and they all pile into the limousine with Jay in the drivers seat and Rey in the passenger seat. The rest of them sat in the back, "Okay. Once we cross the bridge, park under the pier in the old garage," Evie tells Jay and Jay nodded.
They drove off. Once they reached the barrier, that were able to pass through easily and Jay did as Evie told. He parked under the pier in the old garage. As they all got out, Carlos said, "Rey, help me with the tarp!" They jogged over to the large tarp that was already covering something and placed it on top of the car.
"It's really weird being back here," Evie says to Jay. Jay looked over his shoulder and he nodded, "We'll get in and get out." Evie nodded and they all helped one another with another tarp to cover the rest of the limousine since the first one only covered half. Ben trailed off, going up to a large walkway, "What's in here?" He asks the VK's.
"Ben," they all jogged to him and grabbed him, pulling him away from the walkway. "You don't want to know." Jay tells him, assuringly.
"Hey, guys," Carlos starts, "Keep it chill, alright? Last thing we need is our parents figuring out we're here." They take off. They are passing through a market when two kids attack Evie, trying to steal things off her. Carlos and Jay stop but Ben and Rey continue. "Hey!" she shouted, grabbing their hands, "Hey, stop!" Once she sees how poor and innocent they were, she took a deep breath, "Just take it," she says, eyeing the item they had grabbed. They laughed as they ran off.
Evie turned back toward her friends when she noticed Ben and Rey were no longer in their sight. She sighed heavily and they ran after them. Ben and Rey share a look as they look around in their new found area when Ben spots someone. He walks over to them and waves and then holds his hand out to shake the others but the other growled at him, stepping toward him.
Carlos stepped in between them, facing the other man, threatening with his eyes to do something else. Evie grabbed ahold of Ben, "Stop. Just stop."
"Why?"
"This isn't a parade, it's the isle," she tells him and looks over at Rey, "Seriously." Rey throws his hands up.
"Keep your hands in your pockets unless you're stealing." Jay told them.
