Literally so short but just a random little one shot

"Folklore wake up," I was rudely awoken in the middle of the night, being shaken awake by none other than my girlfriend Poets.

"Honey what are you doing awake?" I mumbled, rubbing my eyes. I checked the clock next to my bed. 2am. Of course.

"I thought of another idea for a poem and I needed to tell you," she stated, and though her voice didn't tell much, from what I knew about her she was very excited. We had recently been working together on poetry and lyricism, and it was going amazing for us. She came up with a poem, I put a tune to it, and then we edit it together- simple.

Except for when she started forgetting to sleep. It was becoming an ongoing thing; I wake up during the night to get water or go to the bathroom, and she's sitting up at her desk, writing.

"Go back to sleep Poets," I sighed wearily.

"But this one is really good and I need to tell you right now," she said, her pout evident in her voice. "Now let me read this. I-"

"Poets." I said firmly. "I love you, and I love your poetry. However, I do not love being woken up at 2:16am in the morning,"

"But I wrote this one about you," she crossed her arms, glaring at me. I rolled my eyes, knowing that her annoyedness wasn't sincere and she was just trying to get me to fold and stay up with her, which I wouldn't do. Though I had to admit, she was very cute when she was annoyed, feigning or otherwise. She wasn't so cute when she was sleep deprived.

"I'm very flattered, however I must insist that it waits until the morning,"

"It is technically already the morning," she pointed out.

"You can be such a smart ass sometimes," I smiled tiredly at her. "You know I love it. Just go back to sleep now babe,"

"No thank you." She said firmly. "You said that you must insist that this waits until the morning, however you didn't specify a time that would be happening at so I will be waiting until you are ready to hear it or to further specify-"

"Poets we talked about this, I don't have to specify a time, and you don't have to wait in angst until that time comes. Now I beg you please either speak normal english or just please for the love of God- go. back. to. sleep."

"You know that I will not be sleeping tonight. I've travelled past the realm of tiredness and I seem to have arrived in a state of peacefulness in which my mind is in fact very alive-"

"Alright, nice, I'm sleeping now," I chuckled, laying my head back onto my pillow and curling up into the position I was in previously and closing my eyes. I heard my girlfriend sigh and return to the desk, returning to tapping away at the keys of her computer.

Prior to her birthday this year she had been writing everything down in a notebook, but somebody (me. I'm somebody) made the mistake of putting in some money for a laptop. Honestly, the noise was quite soothing sometimes, so I let myself drop off to sleep with the sound of keys clacking in the background a weirdly comforting soundtrack to my dreams.

-----------------

I woke up in the morning at 6:30, as per usual, and noticed Poets sleeping silently on her back as per usual. The first time I woke up in the same bed as her in the morning, I got the fright of my life because I thought that she was dead. She didn't thank me very much when she was woken up by me screaming at her, but it's not my fault she sleeps like she's about to be loaded into a coffin.

I thought I vaguely heard her come to bed at about five, so I decided to let her sleep. At about 8, I decided to check on her again because I knew she would be pissed off if I let her sleep for any longer.

"Poets?" I shook her gently, and her eyes snapped open immediately, freaking me out a bit.

"What's the time?" She queried, throwing the covers off and sitting up.

"Just turned 8, sorry to have woken you but I thought you'd like me to," I explained.

"Yes I did, thank you," she nodded, swinging her legs over to the side of the bed. "Now I believe you promised to listen to my poem this morning,"

I sighed. "Maybe you should go back to sleep again,"

I saw her shoulders slump miserably, and I placed a hand on her arm.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean for that to sound mean, I just have a bunch of things I have to do, like I have to get the grocery shopping done, and help Debut with something and also prep meals," I explained.
"But tonight I promise I'll set aside an hour or two just for us, sound good?"

"Okay," She pouted, before softening and pressing a kiss to my lips. "I might get some more sleep,"

"Good idea. See you when you wake up,"
