This is like 700 words it's so short and stupid 😭

Midnights' perspective;

The previous weekend, 1989 had decided to start a prank war, and I ended Sunday afternoon defeated and deflated. My genius idea was to let her know, not so subtly, that it wasn't actually over. She never specifically said that it ended on Sunday, just that it was a weekend thing. Now it was the weekend again, I planned to get my revenge.

She walked in and plonked herself down next to me on the bed with a wide smile. I didn't respond and continued scrolling through TikTok without acknowledging her at all, which made her furrow her eyebrows, since I would normally have been excited to have her home.

"Hi Mid," She wrapped an arm around my shoulder and nuzzled in closer to me, but I cleared my throat and shuffled over a few centimetres so that she couldn't cuddle into me. "You okay Mid? Do you not want me to hug you?" She checked worriedly.

I felt really bad but at the same time, she pranked me last week that she was breaking up with me and I believed her, and I cried, so I thought it only fair that I got her back as well. I chose to ignore her question, scrolling down to another video and then laughing internally and sending it to Rep.

"Babyyyy what are you doing?" She pestered, and out of the corner of my eye I caught her giving me a worried look. "Are you mad at me? Did I do something wrong? I'm sorry please talk to me,"

I sighed and shifted position to be curled away from her.

"U-um it's okay I can take a hint. I'll go away," she smiled wobblily at me and awkwardly waved goodbye, hesitating for a moment to check whether I was going to tell her to stay.

As she left I felt a pang of regret for pranking her like that, realising it wasn't the smartest idea and wondering how far I should, or could, go before I gave up and relented. I decided to make it until dinner time, and then talk to her after.

I sat and kind of did absolutely nothing for a while until Lover called us down for dinner.

When I walked down, I sat down at my normal seat and waited for everyone else to come down, but Nine didn't. Fuck, I'd really done it. I pushed my plate of chicken away, murmuring an apology and making my way up the stairs.

"Nine, baby?" I knocked on her door and heard her sniff before opening the door to let me in. "I'm sorry."

"What'd I do wrong, Mid? What did I do?" She asked desperately, tears escaping down her cheeks.

"Nothing, baby, I'm sorry, it was stupid, I- I was finishing the prank war." I pressed a hand to my forehead, beating myself up.

"It was stupid, I was so upset!" She cried, shoving my chest, but with very with little effort so I knew she wasn't actually too mad at me, rather just exasperated. I entered her room fully and closed the door behind us, hugging her tenderly.

"I'm sorry baby," I mumbled into her hair. "How about we call it quits on the pranks for now, huh?"

"Not for now. Forever." She said stubbornly.

"Of course babe." I smiled against her head, before letting her go and stepping away a bit. "Now get on the bed."

"...oh?"

"Not like that, chill." I chuckled.

"Damn." She laid down on the bed grudgingly.

"You," I stepped towards her. "Need some cheering up."

"And how are you going to do that?"

I launched myself on top of her and started tickling every inch of her that I could reach appropriately. She squirmed underneath me, giggling and trying to kick me away, with little success as I held her legs down.

"Oh I'm going to get you back for thi-" 1989 cut herself off as I started tickling her again, protesting weakly until I gave up. "You've tortured me. Now kiss me," she ordered.

I gave in, connecting our lips in a passionate kiss for a few seconds, before pulling away.

"You need to eat dinner now, and so do I. Cmon, it'll get cold." I pulled her up and she let out a breath through slightly parted lips, running a hand through her hair and smoothing out her clothes.

"Can we really not wait a tiny bit longer, and, y'know..." she traced a finger on my jawline. "Finish our business?"

"Nope, I'm hungry."

"Me too... for you." She smirked.

"Hmm, yeah I'm also hungry for actual food though, so cmon."

"Oh for-" she cut herself off again, sighing and throwing her head back dramatically. "You're finishing this as soon as we're done with dinner."

"What if I want dessert?"

"You can have me for dessert," she smirked
