One of the worst things that could happen to you in high school is have a nasty rumour being spread about you. (Comment if there's been a rumour that has been spread about you)
The way people look at you. The way they treat you, and the way they all believe it. It just insane.
Everything was going so well, what happened? Why did everything take a sharp turn?
I rushed out of the bathroom and into the parking lot. Everyone watched as I ran to my car. Their whispers were so loud it was like they were screaming in my ears.
I called Cassie, I needed a friend. I needed someone to talk to.
She picked up at the fourth bell. "What?" She said. She seemed upset.
"Do you know what-"
"What did Captain ever do to you?" She said, overlapping my voice.
I shake my head in disappointment. I could still feel myself shrink. It never stopped.
"Cass..." I whispered. The tears were building up again.
"Save it Allison! Captain is a whole new person now. He can't run the Science Club anymore and we can't be in the competition anymore! Just because you wanted a stupid piece of Captain!" Cassie was so mad I could feel her anger chipping my phone.
"Who told you that?" I asked. I was disgusted that my friend would fall for a rumour.
"Just let me finish! All he said was to stop stalking him! But nooo! Silly Allison had to push him in front of a car! And give me a favor Al, don't call me again! Ever!"
She hanged up.
I rested my head on the seat. I couldn't waste a tear on this rumour. From the back of the seat, I pulled out a can of beer and started to drink it.
Right then, something hit my head. Hard enough to shock me. The can spilled all over me.
It was a note wrapped around a small rock, secured with a rubber band.
When I opened it, the note had three insulting letters. GFY.
