I'm going back to school tomorrow.
It was hard going back but worse damages were already done.
I walked through the halls where the whisperings never stopped.
God I hate those whispers.
Through all my classes, I sat at the back, which was not a best idea since people would turn around every now and then and shot a nasty looks at me.
I got called to the principles office at second period.
I walked in the office to see the principle, vice principle, the counselors, some people from the district, and a police officer.
When the principle saw me he said, "please take a seat."
I sat down and waited for what was coming.
"Allison Meers," he began. "We hate to put outside of school events as our business, but I think this one we need to put in our hands on."
I gulped.
The police offices touched his belt. He didn't scare me though. His eyes were locked on me.
"Please be honest with us," the principle began. " Is it true that you Allison Meers, pushed an innocent student by the name of Brad Williams, in front of a car?" He asked.
I felt like I had been slapped in the face.
"What do you think?" I asked angrily. I could feel my blood rushing up my face. The police took a step closer to me.
I was so mad that even the school staff would think the same way about me.
"Miss. Meers, from the history and records we have about you, you have been through a lot of illegal as underaged situation."
I slapped my hand on the table and couple of things jumped on the table as a reaction. The cop ran right behind me.
Suddenly I yelled, "I cleared up! And you know it!"
"Yes but-" the principle said in a low voice.
"You have seen my grades and my records for this semester. I had all A's and B's! I cleared up! I came into your office seven weeks ago and told you I've changed things up!" My voice was loud and shaking from anger but no one in the room interrupted, not even the cop.
The principle saw the scar on my forehead. "Well were you there, at the scene when Brad had gotten hit by the car?" He looked at me so deadly I could feel his soul trying to choke my neck.
"Yes.. Wait no! Like umm.." I didn't know how to explain. I was passed out on the side of the road and I had no idea that he was there. And just for some reason, I didn't want them to know that Captain pushed me out of the way.
He silently waited but his telephone began to ring.
He picked it up and quietly listen. Every few seconds only saying "okay."
He listened to the person on the other side of the phone for a long time. But he was still looking directly at me.
Which made it obvious the call had to do something with me.Everyone waited patiently for him. When he hanged up he sighed and said, "we apologized for accusing you for pushing a student in front of a car. But it's all taken care of. You're excused."
I gave him the stink eye.
I began to get up from my seat. One of the district lady spoke. "But sir, this hasn't been cleared yet."
I froze. The principle looked at me, with a warm heart this time. It was like his deadly soul didn't exist anymore.
He put his hand up, his palm facing the lady who just spoke. In a demanding voice he said, "let her go."
He gave me a crooked smile and said, "stay safe Meers."
