Chapter 48

Nyrah was happy after a very long time. She was going to Germany with Aston, and that too on a honeymoon. She could hardly believe it, though she had hoped they might choose a different country or place, as she had been to Germany twice before. Still, she shrugged it off. It didn't matter how many times she had visited the place before; going with Aston for the first time made it special.

Nyrah was packing her bags, trying to decide which dresses to take, when her phone rang. It was Alessa calling.

"Hey, Alessa!" Nyrah answered, a smile in her voice.

"Hey girl, you sound happy. What's going on?" Alessa teased, her voice full of curiosity.

Nyrah couldn't contain her excitement. "I'm going on a honeymoon tomorrow!" she chirped happily.

"No way! Where to?" Alessa asked, her enthusiasm matching Nyrah's.

"Germany!" Nyrah exclaimed.

"Wow! That's amaz—" Alessa started, but was abruptly cut off when her phone was snatched by a concerned Zale.

"That bastard is taking you to Germany?" he asked, disbelief and anger clear in his voice.

"Brother, please," Nyrah responded, her tone firm but gentle. "He's my husband, and you shouldn't say that."

"Shut up, Nyrah. How can you agree to go with him?" Zale asked, his voice laced with frustration and concern. He still believed that Aston would try to hurt her. The idea that this might be a trick to get her away from his protection made him worry sick.

"Brother, Aston will not—" Nyrah began, trying to reassure him.

"How foolish of you, Nyrah, to still trust him," Zale interrupted, his eyes wide with disbelief.

"I can take care of myself, brother. I'm not five years old anymore," she tried to make him understand.

"Fine. Do whatever you want," he replied curtly before hanging up.

Alessa, sensing the tension, tried to calm him. "Zale, it's her life. You shouldn't interfere like that."

"You don't know anything, Alessa. You don't know how sick that Aston is," he argued, running his hands through his hair in frustration. "I just can't trust her with him, no matter what."

Alessa sighed, trying to find the right words. "I get that you want to protect her, but sometimes you have to let people make their own choices."

"What will I do now?" Zale hissed. It's not like he didn't trust Nyrah, he did. He wanted to see her happy with her better half. But he couldn't trust Aston, not with their past. He still believed Nyrah should divorce Aston. He just couldn't bear to see his sister hurt.

Just then, an idea popped into his head. He looked at Alessa, a smirk forming on his face. Alessa, puzzled by the sudden change in his demeanor, asked, "What's going on?"

"Pack your bags, Alessa. We are also leaving for Germany tomorrow," Zale announced.

"Wait, what? Are you serious?" Alessa asked, her eyebrows raised in surprise.

------------

The next day, Aston and Nyrah were heading to their private jet. The morning sun bathed the runway in a golden glow, casting long shadows behind them as they approached the sleek aircraft.

Their bags were carried by bodyguards as they were about to board the jet. Just then, more cars entered the runway in a line. Aston watched the expensive cars approach, while Nyrah instantly guessed who they belonged to.

A bodyguard from the front car got out and opened the door, revealing a dashing Zale. Aston cringed at the sight, while Nyrah chirped happily.

"Brother!" she exclaimed, quickly letting go of Aston's hand to approach Zale.

Zale stepped out, his eyes softening as he saw Nyrah. He embraced her warmly. "Hey, Nyrah. How are you?" he asked, his voice gentle.

"I'm good, brother. What are you doing here?" Nyrah asked, surprised but delighted.

Zale shot a quick glance at Aston before responding. "I thought I'd surprise you. Alessa and I decided to take a trip to Germany as well. Thought it would be fun to join you."

Nyrah's eyes widened with excitement. "Really? That's amazing! It'll be great to have you both there."

"No, you can't," Aston stepped forward, trying to keep his composure.

"Why not, brother-in-law?" Zale asked, drawing out the last sentence dramatically.

Aston's jaw tightened. "We planned this trip as a chance to spend time together, just the two of us."

Zale smirked. "Well, we can all spend time together. We'll join you on your private jet and also accompany you to your villa in Germany."

Nyrah looked between them, sensing the brewing tension. "Aston, please. It would mean a lot to me if they came along. It's been so long since we spent time together as a family."

"But it's our honeymoon, damn it!" Aston shouted, his frustration evident as the guards and assisting staff watched the unfolding drama.

"So what? It's not like you both are going to do anything," Zale whispered the last part, making sure only Aston could hear.

Aston's mood soured further at Zale's insinuation. He glanced at Nyrah, who was holding his arm and looking at him with pleading eyes. "Please, Aston," she begged softly.

"Fine," he said reluctantly. "They can come." Nyrah's face lit up with relief and gratitude. She quickly hugged Aston.
