Chapter 50
Nyrah woke up the next morning to the sound of the alarm, blinking sleepily as she turned it off. She glanced over to see Aston still sleeping, his face peaceful and relaxed for once. Today they were supposed to visit Römerberg, a trip she had been looking forward to.
She gently shook his shoulder. "Aston, wake up. We need to get ready for our visit to Römerberg."
Aston stirred, slowly opening his eyes. "Morning," he mumbled, rubbing his eyes. "What time is it?"
"It's time to get up," Nyrah said softly.
"But I don't want to get up," Aston murmured, pulling the blanket over his head.
"But why?" Nyrah asked, her tone a mix of curiosity and concern.
"I don't want to see your brother's irritating face," Aston mumbled, his voice muffled by the blanket.
Nyrah sighed, feeling a pang of disappointment. "But Aston, don't you want to go with me there?"
Aston peeked out from under the blanket and was momentarily stunned by the sight of Nyrah. Her dark hair cascaded around her shoulders in loose waves, catching the morning light and giving her an almost ethereal glow. Her eyes, a captivating shade of grey, were filled with a mix of hope and sadness that made his heart ache. Her soft, porcelain skin seemed to radiate warmth, and her delicate features were accentuated by the gentle smile that played on her lips. She looked effortlessly beautiful, like a vision from a dream.
Aston reached out and gently cupped her face, his thumb brushing against her cheek as he lay on the bed. Nyrah leaned into his touch, her eyes closing briefly as she savored the warmth of his hand. Aston pulled her onto him, making her blush.
She gasped softly, her cheeks turning a delicate shade of pink. "Aston..."
He smiled up at her, his eyes filled with affection. "You make everything better, Nyrah."
Aston smiled for the first time since they had arrived on this trip. Indeed, this girl could make him feel emotions he didn't want to admit to. As he looked at her with a clear mind, he realized just how beautiful she was, not only on the outside but also on the inside. He knew he had done many things to hurt her, yet she was always ready to forgive and forget. He realized he couldn't find another girl like her, and he didn't want anyone else. If she was willing to make amends with him, he was also ready to escape the darkness of his past and move forward with her.
She giggled, her hands resting on his chest. "Even when you're grumpy?"
"Especially then," he whispered, pulling her closer until their lips met in a soft, tender kiss. The kiss deepened, filled with unspoken promises and a love that words could never fully capture.
Meanwhile, Alessa had just finished her shower and wrapped herself in a fluffy towel. As she opened the bathroom door, she was met with an unexpected sight: Zale was sitting on the bed, meticulously loading a gun. The sight itself made her let out a soft yelp of fear, and she quickly slammed the bathroom door shut again, her heart racing.
Inside the bathroom, she took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. What on earth was Zale doing with a gun? She pressed her ear to the door, listening intently.
"Alessa?" Zale's voice came from the other side, sounding a bit puzzled. "Are you okay?"
"Why are you loading a gun in our room?" she called back, her voice shaky.
"Please come out, Alessa. I'll explain everything," Zale assured her, his voice gentle.
Alessa hesitated, then slowly opened the door a crack, peeking out. Seeing that the gun was no longer in his hands, she released a breath of relief and stepped out, still clutching her towel tightly.
"Why did you bring a gun with you, Zale?" Alessa asked, her voice still tinged with fear.
Zale took a sharp breath, knowing he had to come clean. "I brought it because I don't trust Aston," he admitted.
Alessa gasped, her eyes widening. "Zale, he's Nyrah's husband, and you're planning to kill him? Seriously?"
"No, no, not to kill him," Zale quickly clarified, shaking his head. "I just want to be prepared in case he tries anything".
Alessa looked at him like he had actually gone mad, but she decided to let it be.

The sun was shining brightly over the historic square of Romerberg as Aston, Nyrah, Zale, and Alessa stepped out of their car. The cobblestone streets were bustling with tourists, and the colorful half-timbered buildings created a picturesque backdrop. Alessa's eyes sparkled with excitement as she took in the vibrant atmosphere.
"Let's check out the old town hall," Alessa suggested, pointing to the ornate building at the center of the square. "I heard the architecture is incredible."
They made their way through the crowd, stopping occasionally to admire street performers and browse through stalls selling souvenirs and local crafts. The air was filled with the sounds of laughter, music, and the distant chimes of church bells.
Inside the old town hall, the group marveled at the intricate woodwork and stunning frescoes. Nyrah took photos while Aston explained some of the historical significance of the place. Zale, despite his vigilance, couldn't help but be impressed by the grandeur of the building.
"Let's head to the Kaisersaal," Aston suggested. "It's where the emperors were once crowned."
They moved through the grand halls, their footsteps echoing on the polished floors. The Kaisersaal was a vast, majestic room adorned with portraits of emperors and richly decorated with gold accents. Nyrah was in awe, taking in every detail.
"This is incredible," she whispered, leaning against Aston. "Thank you for bringing me here."
Aston kissed her forehead gently. "Anything for you."
As they left the town hall and wandered back into the lively square, the group decided to grab a bite at one of the charming cafes lining the streets. They found a cozy spot with outdoor seating, giving them a perfect view of the bustling square.
Over coffee and pastries, the tension slowly began to dissolve. Zale and Aston exchanged a few words without hostility, and Alessa and Nyrah chatted animatedly about their plans for the rest of the trip.
Just then, Aston's phone started vibrating incessantly. Call after call came through, and Zale couldn't help but notice Aston's reluctance to answer in front of everyone. He narrowed his eyes, sensing something amiss.
"Who keeps calling you?" Zale asked, unable to hide his suspicion.
Aston forced a smile, trying to downplay the situation said "Just some business calls. I'll handle them later." Although it didn't seem that way to Zale . Aston, keeping his phone on silent, moved alongwith the group.
