"blue varsity jacket boy?!"
the man in front of san, still dressed in black, with a cap covering his widened eyes and a mask pulled down to his chin, appeared displeased by san's presence. however, san hadn't accepted the reality of the situation yet; he was still staring like a dumbstruck puppy at the man who had saved his life—or attempted to save it—earlier.
wooyoung dashed towards him, removing his cap and placing it over san's head instead. the gesture revealed his extremely tangled black hair, which would have made san, the picture-perfect romance male lead, cringe, but for some reason, he couldn't help but want to run his fingers through those thick black strands.
"how the fuck did you get here?!" wooyoung whisper-yelled, tightly gripping san's elbow and leading them to the shade of a leafless, dead tree.
his eyes were sharp, demanding, as they had been since the very first moment he looked at san. but this did not cause san to rethink his actions or become confused. instead, the look in his eyes only made his heart beat faster.
"my heart led me here," san breathed, overwhelmed by being back in this man's presence.
an additional ability of leads in a romance drama: infallible intuition. san had an almost supernatural ability to find the people he was looking for, no matter where they were, guided by an unexplainable hunch. this was because, in the most perfectly cliche romances, the male lead finds his female lead in the most desperate situations; when she is lost, in trouble, sad, or simply needs his presence.
his script-granted abilities had consistently failed to be effective on wooyoung. san was grateful that at least this power of his had managed to work in accordance with his desires, because if it hadn't, the hole that had been digging into his heart since wooyoung's departure would have grown larger and larger until it consumed him.
choi san was now content. wooyoung's cap, which was now on his head, added to his contentment with its strangely appealing smell.
"your heart led you here? that's the dumbest reason i've ever heard," wooyoung grumbled, and his eyes darted around, scanning for any potential threats or eavesdroppers. the quiet, desolate street provided an eerie backdrop to their clandestine meeting, its emptiness punctuated only by the whisper of the wind through the barren branches overhead.
san, still entranced by wooyoung's disheveled appearance and the warm, musky scent of his cap, blinked slowly. he'd completely lost touch with his eerie surroundings, which would have caused him to scream at the top of his lungs on any other day. "i understand it sounds crazy, but it's the truth. something told me i needed to find you—"
"oh, shut the fuck up, flower-boy," wooyoung interrupted bitterly, his piercing gaze fixed on san's smitten eyes. "listen. you need to go back to where you came from. you're not supposed to be on this side of nexus. it's dangerous."
