something was wrong. very wrong.
to rewind, wooyoung awoke to the muffled sounds of the action world bursting into life outside his window. his living room was dark, with heavy curtains drawn tightly to block out any light.
he stretched, feeling the familiar ache in his muscles from the constant strain of his double life. rubbing his eyes, he sat up on the couch, the dim light from his alarm clock providing the only illumination in the room. it was 4 p.m. how long had he slept?
as he sat there, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he felt a sense of determination settle over him. he had made up his mind.
he'd had enough of being spellbound by the romance zone and whatever power it possessed. never in his life had he stalled so much in catching a criminal. what made it even more absurd was that he could easily go grab his target from where he was and return him to where he belonged—the only thing standing in his way was this strange emotion telling him that breaking up a happy couple was not heroic at all.
the romance zone had always been a major impediment to his progress, and he would no longer let it stand in his way of achieving his objectives. wooyoung was eager to return to his former self—hardened, cold, and unconcerned about meaningless sentiments. the day ahead was long (and almost coming to an end), and he was prepared to face whatever it threw at him.
after he showered, ate lunch, and dressed up, of course.
he scratched his bare chest, resisting the urge to fall back asleep on the comfortable, hard grey sofa. with a grunt, he forced himself to stand, almost hitting his knee against his newest piece of furniture, the coffee table.
wooyoung made his way to the balcony, determined to let in some light and start his day right. he pulled back the heavy curtains, expecting the usual dark, overcast skies of the action world. and that's when he noticed it.
a brilliant yellow ball of light hung in the sky, filling the streets with a blinding glow. wooyoung squinted and covered his eyes with his hand. it took him a moment to recognise it for what it was: the thing from the romance zone. why was it in the world of action!?
stepping out onto the balcony, wooyoung looked down at the streets below, and his confusion deepened. the people walking around were far from familiar.
"what in the—?" wooyoung rubbed his eyes vigorously, convinced he was having an unusually vivid nightmare.
there was a familiar-looking mafia boss trying to figure out how to react to a group of children handing him drawings. a burly action hero in full combat gear conversing with a dainty woman in a flowing dress. a tough female soldier exchanging glances with a dumbstruck man, and a handsome assassin struggling to balance a stack of pink, sparkly letters while walking his bear-sized rottweiler. it seemed like...
the romance and action zones had merged?!
wooyoung's heart pounded vigorously in his chest. this was dangerous, far more dangerous than anything he had anticipated. his immediate guess was that this had something to do with his target. he needed to act quickly before things spiralled out of control, because the only person to blame was... himself.
