it was nearly half-past seven when they walked out of the adoption centre, after wooyoung had completed all of the necessary paperwork before he could finally take his puppy home.

a thrilling silence had settled between them as they walked side by side while maintaining a gap (which san disliked), with wooyoung holding glittery burp's leash and san giddily whistling to himself. not comfortable, but thrilling. why?

because choi san was over the moon with happiness!

a goofy smile had settled on his face, almost frozen in place as he walked with his hands clasped behind his back. he was laughing and humming to himself, completely immersed in his own world of rainbows, sunshine, and heart-shaped clouds—wooyoung said nothing about it. it appeared that his lack of response was due to the fact that he had finally grown accustomed to san's very annoying presence, which made san feel... even happier!

wooyoung, the grim and perpetually unkind action lead, had called him cute. cute!

if san were in his dorm room right now, he'd be a squealing, kicking mess, and his pillows and bedsheets would all be ruined by his relentlessly aggressive punching and fidgeting. however, because he was in public, he had no choice but to keep his emotions contained.

he was finally making some progress, after weeks of feeling as if this romance would always be one-sided, and he would be forced to linger behind wooyoung like a particularly annoying fruit fly. but wooyoung found him cute! wasn't finding someone physically attractive usually the first step before developing feelings?

needless to say, san's romantic feelings for the action hero had increased tenfold that night. at first, the idea of looking for adoptable guard dogs seemed unconvincing as a proper date, especially since san was afraid of dogs. but now, he was eternally grateful for everything: grateful for the blended realms, grateful for glittery burp, grateful for his seemingly 'cute' and dog-like face, and grateful for the existence of the action world.

they entered a footpath in a park surrounded by dim, golden street lamps, which added to the romantic atmosphere. at times like these, it was appropriate to gaze adoringly at your romantic partner (even if it was one-sided)!

san cast a not-so-subtle glance in wooyoung's direction. in his right hand, he held the dog's leash; the dog itself was intimidating, walking at a terrifyingly slow pace rather than running around like a normal dog. with each step, it emphasised its muscles even more. san would've been terrified, but his gratitude for the dog had temporarily blinded him, and he could only see the creature as lovable.

wooyoung, on the other hand, kept his sharp and alert gaze fixed forwards. his face was devoid of any positive expression, with brows and lips slightly frowning. he appeared cold and unapproachable, as he always did. san bit his lip before his smile could grow any bigger. he was so adorable!

san cleared his throat and carefully stepped closer to shorten the distance between them. when he got close enough to smell wooyoung's musky cologne, he stopped shifting and opened his mouth to speak.
