choi san had tried to be the bigger person.
he tried to be the person wooyoung wanted him to be: someone who listened to what he said and did not take his serious advice at face value. and so, despite his determination to incorporate his annoying presence into wooyoung's daily life, san did not cross the line. literally.
he remained in his own world, deluding himself into believing that jung wooyoung would eventually come to see him, because, while wooyoung couldn't care on the surface, perhaps deep down, there was a realisation waiting to be acknowledged, and choi san's absence would bring it to light.
but the one taking a hit because of the other party's absence was definitely not wooyoung. it was san. and the hit he took was far from insignificant; rather, it affected everyone. choi san, the story's male lead, brought days of turbulent, stormy weather to the world of romance with only his unbearable sadness. he always thought it was unfair that his mood could affect everyone's day, and he wished he could stop being unhappy so he could give the people of romance zone a break, but his dramatic sadness seemed to have no end.
his mood fluctuated, though it generally remained negative. in some moments, he felt a glimmer of hope that wooyoung was simply taking his sweet time recognising his feelings. the next moment, the flicker of hope would be extinguished when san realised that wooyoung had never done anything to make him believe that he would ever have romantic feelings for him. if anything, he'd made it more clear that he despised san.
but that morning, when the wind was as unforgiving as any other day, and the rain soaked his hair and clothes, bringing life to his pale skin, he felt the glimmer of hope return. the spark within him ignited as soon as he wrapped his arms around wooyoung, and it glowed brighter than ever seconds later, because wooyoung did not immediately push him away, as he had expected.
maybe it was the realisation that he had more pressing matters to attend to, or he was just taken aback by san's sudden gesture and only then snapped back into reality, but almost a minute later, wooyoung had shoved him away. he dashed away, but not before saying something about how san should go inside because the weather would make him sick, and he also told him not to follow him under any circumstances this time. but san didn't listen.
so here he was, whistling to himself and strolling down the sidewalk, approaching the alleyway from which all the noise was coming, where wooyoung's voice was clearer than ever. the unpredictable weather cleared up quickly, with the gloomy clouds receding to allow the sunshine to work its magic. the rain had stopped, leaving puddles that would soon disappear under the sun's warmth.
when he carefully peered into the corner, he was not surprised to see that wooyoung and the woman had already trapped the person they were seeking. the man, dressed in ordinary clothes, was backed up against a wall, with nowhere else to turn or run.
"you really thought you would get away with all of this?" wooyoung scoffed, his tone menacing and sharp. san wasn't intimidated at all; his unforgiving tone only added to his sexiness.
