Somehow, I was glad that Leona didn't hear it just now. Laurence and I just stared at each other in disbelieve. It was clear to see, that none of us knew about this arrangement.

And it got worse.

Norris waited till the cheering died down, "And for the final event, they fill have a fang marriage tomorrow morning, in this very hotel and everyone is invited to take part." Drac hasn't heard of such a marriage before, going over to his father, "Dad, what is a fang marriage exactly?"

Vlad smiled, "Since you married a full blooded vampire woman, you cannot know. I was invited to one on the 17 Century. It is only when a vampire decided to take on a human bride. After they exchanged their vowels, they don't kiss at the end; the vampire will turn their new bride in front of everyone. I wonder if Mavis would ever consider remarrying her husband in a fang marriage."

"Highly unlikely" said Drac, leaving his father. The count watched, as I got paler by the minute, like I was about to break down. Laurence stood beside me, not looking pleased either.

Outside the hall, Leona was held up by one of the waiters.

Laurence went over to his own father, once the shock made his body move again, "Did you know about this?"

He shook his head, "No, but I am pleased that you found yourself a bride. I am so proud of you son."

"No dad, N/A isn't the one I want, because my true bride is not in this room."

Count Mortimer raised a brow, "But there is a bride?"

Laurence nodded, saying that he will propose to her once he finds her. In that case, his father didn't see a problem, "As long as you found someone, it is fine with me, still proud of you son."

Unlike Count Mortimer, Norris was far from pleased.

I confronted him at once, no matter if the ancient vampires could hear me or not, "Have you completely lost your mind?! I am not going to marry Laurence!" As Sir Camellay began to stand up, Norris gestured him that he will take care of this, pulling me away from the crowd, "I did this for your own good."

"Do you even know the true meaning of the sentence? I told you once and for all, I just came here to help you out. That I joined the ball was just fun for me, not to get hitched."

"So Dracula was just fun?"

He got me there. My silence didn't help me, as his hand held my arm, "If you don't do this tonight, I cannot guarantee for your safety."

Disappointed I shoved his hand off, "Are you saying you won't save your own daughter?"

"I am saving you...by marring Laurence. I thought you wanted to be a vampire."

"I was a child dad, things change in time."

Norris eyes wandered to the ancient vampires, "Not everything dearest."

"Dad..." my cold tone was new to my father, "...if I go through this, I will take revenge on every vampire in the world...starting with you."

Sir Camellay didn't wait any longer, coming over, "Is everything aright Norris?"

Laughing uncomfortable, he pulled me close to him, "Sure Sir, she is just nervous about tomorrow." The vampire left us with a deadly glare in my direction. Once his back was turned, I pushed Norris off and ran out the hall. The slam of the doors made Leona and the waiter jump. Laurence followed me right after, also passing Leona. She got worried herself, stopping him, "What happened?" He told her to follow him to my room. Us three alone, we told her what just happened. Her expression turned sad, "But, are you...do you want to..."

"Leona no, I don't want to marry him."

Laurence nodded, "And neither do I. This might be the only chance to let you know this." He grabbed her hand and got closer, "Leona, I was always in love with you. Even as children I had a huge crush on you."

"I never noticed. You were always near N/A, so I thought you and her..."

"She is like a sister to me Leo. Afraid to tell you I stayed close to N/A. Believe me, no one expected this to happen." Leona and Laurence came closer to another, looking deep into each other's eyes. A sudden flash of punk spark went over their eyes. I smiled, they have finally zinged. No arrangement could ever break this bond and I was prepared to fight for it, "We need a plan to stop this marriage."

Laurence panicked, "What about Norris?"

"I don't think that this was planned by my father. Obviously the ancient vampires got their hands in this, trying to finish what they started." Leona knew what that meant. Both vampires were there as Sir Camellay tried to kill me. Laurence held Leona's hand tight, "N/A, you can count on us." She nodded as well, "You will always have our support."

At this point, I wished to have someone else's support too.

Dracula saw as Laurence followed me out, but couldn't go after us. Norris stopped him, pushing him back, "The hunt ball is over, you and your family can go now."

"Norris, this is not the right thing. From father to father, don't go through with this."

"Or what? So you can have a go at my daughter? She will never be yours count."

Drac sighed deeply, going into the opposite direction, "With me, she would never have to go through a fang marriage... I love her just the way she is."
