To get my breaks in peace, I climbed on top of the roof. Only the gargoyle kept me company, constantly begging to get stroked. I giggled at his sweet behavior, "Honestly, you are worse than a puppy."

"Says the right one."

Lorance stood behind me with a wide smile on his lips. I didn't bother turning around, "Oh really, how?" He sat beside me now, "Lets see. When we were kids, you always came to me for comfort after a nightmare, plus I took care of the good-night stories." I remembered these moments, "Ah yes 'the little vampire', right?" "You took it very seriously, since it reminded you of your own life." He shouldn't have said that, as I looked away, "Yeah, until that accident." Laurence was always there for me, even on that day. If it wasn't for him, I might have died in his arms. He was always the big brother I turned to for help. He even protected me from bullies. As the human that pretend to be a vampire, was I a famous victim to mess with.

"However, it was nice talking to you, but I got work to do."

"Can we talk later? I really need some advice on flirting."

His smile only grew wider, I knew what that meant, "Do you have someone in mind?"

"Let's just say, I got my eye on one special girl."

I waved him goodbye, leaving the roof, "I hope she is worth it. See you later."

"Don't worry N/A, she is worth the effort."

Back in the hotel, Mavis was looking for me. She really wants to know who I am getting married to.

Drac was on the balcony, watching the fog crawling through the forest. It was full moon that night, normally the perfect moment for a romantic moment. But the count sees no reason to feel like that. For the third time he was falling for someone and she gets married off to someone else. Maybe he wasn't meant to be with anyone.

I returned back to the restaurant, the Draculas were nowhere to be seen.

My father however, sneaked up behind me, "How are you sweet bat?"

"It would be better if you didn't ask me to come."

"I thought you like it here."

I gave him a small smile, "I do dad I do, but something bothers me."

"And what is that?"

To talk with Norris about my little crush on Drac wasn't an easy as it sounds. I fear that he might not like it or even throws him out of the hotel. "Did you ask Drac about me?" The old vampire laughed out with relief, "Oh that, don't worry darling...this was just a joke. We talked about other things." "The last hunt ball, you tried to engage me with Rupert, which was not funny."

"Why he had all the best qualities in a man."

"He could have been my great-grandfather."

He shrugged, "Can't be that bad. I mean, he constantly had his eye on you."

"No wonder, he had a lazy eye. Please dad, no more blind dates."

He opened his mouth, as I stopped him, "Blind vampires don't count, dad."

"Damn it."

I know he means it well, but at some point it has to stop. I am old enough to decide who I want to date. Back to the customers, I noticed Drac on the balcony. A few vampires held their hands up for attention. "I will be right with you Sir Allen." Slowly, I approached him, "Good evening count." Drac turned as he heard my voice, "N/A...what are you doing here?" "Eh...I work here" Drac noticed how stupid he just sounded, "Right." "Aren't you hungry?" He shook his head, "I lost my appetite."

"Okay, let me know if you changed your mind."

Drac watched me as I went over to Sir Allen to fill his wine glass with more blood. Mavis returned at the restaurant seeing me serving customers. Before she could get even near me, her father blocked her way, "Mavis honey, please don't ask her." She didn't get it, "Why dad?" He couldn't tell her who it is, "Because, it is supposed to be a surprise for her." "This is not a good one dad." "I know that sweetheart, I know." Mavis stayed beside him. She watches her father's eyes following me every move, "Dad, this is ridiculous. Just go over there and confess to her."

He father was caught by surprise, "Me, confessing? I like her, that doesn't mean I love her."

His daughter knows him better than he thinks, "Sure, you aren't worried about her getting married to another man. I mean you didn't go into shock after you hear the news. Everyone freezes up at someone they like."

"Okay, okay, I may like her a bit more than that. But I don't want to get into her father's way, since he planned it all."

"I think we can manage that."

Drac stared at his daughter with confusion. What is she up to? All she said what for him not to worry. She would take care of it, heading upstairs to her room. Before she left, Drac had to ask her a question.

He held his daughter's hands, "You really wouldn't mind her...as my second woman in my life?"

"Who is your first woman?"

He tipped her nose, "You my little blood orange."

"I love you dad"

"I love you too darling."

He hugged her for a minute and then, lets her go. Drac was for sure, he can always rely on his daughter to be at his side.

Once Mavis entered her room, she found her husband there. Jonny was on the bed, with a large stomach going up and down in a steady rhythm. She sighted at the sight, "Jonny wake up. I need your help."

"Honey, I don't feel too well."

"I am not surprised. But I really need you now. It's about dad."

This caught this attention, "Papa Drac, what for?"

Mavis smiled happy, "He wants to tell N/A his feelings."

Jonny, jumped up with excitement, "Ready for orders!"
