When Emma came out of her dance class, Amy was standing at the front desk chatting away with Miss April, her technique teacher. She gripped her bag tighter and stormed over. "What are you doing? You should have waited in the car."
"Whoa," April said. "She was just introducing herself, relax Emma."
Emma continued to glower, but Amy's smile never faded. "Do you want to stop by and grab your stuff first, or do you want to go to dinner first?"
"I want to go to the car, where you should be!" The teen sassed, walking by her out the door.
Amy locked her car doors right as Emma reached for it. "What the fuck?"
"Hey!" Amy exclaimed frowning. "Watch your mouth. You're lucky Hunter isn't here; he would wash it out!" Emma continued to glare. "What's the problem here?"
"I just don't know why you two are inserting yourselves into everything!" Emma snapped. "My teachers asked me today if I needed any of my old packets I hadn't completed in order to work on them because my new guardians had reached out to them..."
"You should be grateful that Hunter and I were able to get them to give you full credit for those assignments. You should also be grateful that we are just your guardians, because if Niko's teachers ever said to us what especially your history teacher said, he wouldn't be sitting comfortably for a long while." Amy snapped back.
Emma straightened a little at that. "My parents would never let you hit me."
"I'm not trying to be a bitch here Emma, but it doesn't seem like your parents would give a fuck if we chopped you into pieces and tossed you in the lake..." The words were out of her mouth before she even registered that she was saying them.
Tears instantly brimmed in the teen's eyes, but she refused to let them fall. "If you have to say, 'I'm not trying to be a bitch', then you are being a bitch." Emma said through gritted teeth. She turned abruptly and started to run off.
"Fuck me." Amy whispered before getting in her car and taking off after the teen. Luckily the girls dance bag slowed her down, and Amy caught up to her walking just a few streets over. "Get in the car, Emma."
"No." Emma said, continuing to walk.
"I'm sorry, I lost my temper back there. Please get in the car. We can talk over dinner and then go shopping."
"NO." Emma said again.
"What is your plan?" Amy asked her, stopping the car in the middle of the thankfully empty street.
"I'm going to go home, shower and go to bed." Emma said firmly.
"Okay, then get in the car and I will take you there." Amy told her.
Emma stopped and looked suspiciously at her, "You will?"
