Growing Pains

"Plllleeeaaasssseeee..." Emma whined.

"Pllllleeeeaaassseee...." Niko repeated the exaggerated whine.

Amy frowned from one child to the next. She was eternally grateful to be able to have this time with her three children, but Luca was starting to move around more, and Niko and Emma were doing a lot of teaming up. "You don't even know what Sissy is whining about." She scolded.

"Surfing!" Niko countered.

Amy rolled her eyes, "We can get your balance board out of the dance studio."

"Yay!" Niko shouted, running off to go play.

"Traitor." Emma grumbled. "Please Momma. I NEED to dance. It's in my very core! They've taken the stitches out. I'm not using the walker anymore. Please let me dance."

"Asked and answered." Amy sighed, standing up, and going into the kitchen to wash the veggies she was going to use for lunch.

Emma groaned, she HATED when they told her that. "Please Momma, just a little bit? Like just one hour?"

"Emma, it's not safe yet. If you dance too soon and mess your knee up more, you might never dance again. Is that what you want?"

"God would never permanently take me from dance." Emma said.

"Emma Charlotte. Enough. You have asked and I have answered. That answer was no."

"You aren't being reasonable."

"How about you call your Daddy and see what he says?"

"Fine." Emma said, pulling her phone from the kitchen counter where it had been plugged in. She quickly pulled up Hunter's name and hit the call button.

"Hey Ems. What's up?" He asked on the third ring. She would never get tired of that. She had to call her parents 3 nights a week at the same time now and they still missed her call half the time. Hunter and Amy always picked up.

"I was asking Momma if I could get into the dance room a little and dance..." Emma said, just cutting to the chase.

"Put me on speaker."

"Yes Sir." Emma said, obeying.

"You there?"

"Yes." Amy said, knowing he was talking to her.

"What did you tell her?"

"I told her no." Amy said. "Then she tried to recruit Niko and he was asking me to unlock the room too so that I could get his balance board."
