"Come home." Hunter whispered into the phone.

Amy laughed at that. "I'm working. I can't just come home. What's going on?"

"She hasn't come out of her room all day." Hunter said.

"She is working on her homework."

"No, she woke up early, she finished it around nine-thirty. I've invited her to go play in the snow with us, or play trains with us, or watch a movie. It's all been a no. She's just sitting at her desk, not doing anything. She barely touched her breakfast...come home."

"Have you made lunch?" Amy asked.

"Not yet."

"Go hand her your phone, then heat up the taco leftovers for lunch. If she picked at breakfast, make sure she eats a taco." Amy said.

"Yes ma'am." Hunter teased walking down the hall. He knocked on Emma's door.

"Come in." Hunter entered, just enough to hand the phone off and then walked out to make lunch. "Hello?"

"Hey, baby, Hunter said you finished your homework. Good job. Did he check it over?" Amy asked.

"Yes ma'am." Emma said, picking at the desk.

"Why are you still sitting at your desk, baby love?"

"Because you aren't home."

"I said you needed to stay there until your homework is done. It sounds like that's done." Amy said, softening her voice.

"Yeah, but I'm still being punished until you soap my mouth and give me the last 5 swats. I'm waiting for you to come home."

"Oh baby, I'm not going to be home until six. Get up off your bottom, and go hang out with your family."

"I hurt." Emma whined softly.

"I know, Ems, so get off your bottom." Amy told the girl.

"No my stomach hurts." Emma said.

"Maybe because you didn't eat breakfast."

"I'm sorry." Emma whispered.

"Did you stand up?"

"No ma'am."

"Emma, what's wrong?"

"I don't like to wait for you. My homework was done before ten, and I have to wait until six to get my punishment?" Emma whined.
