"There's no way he doesn't know." Emma whispered to Kacey.
"Yeah, y'all smelled like you'd been drinking for sure. Just play it cool though, Ems. No reason to rock the boat so early." He confirmed as he tossed a couple of biscuits on his plate. "He probably doesn't want to get after you on your birthday. Eat something."
Emma shoveled some of the scrambled eggs on her plate. A hand came behind her setting a biscuit on her plate. "Some carbs." Amy said, leaning in to kiss the girls temple.
"Thanks Momma." Emma hummed. She hesitated for a moment. Her friends were already at the tables outside eating with Hunter. If she was going to say something, now was the moment. "Hey Momma?"
"Yeah baby?" Amy asked directing her attention to the teen.
"We drank a little last night." Emma said.
Amy nodded. "Daddy thought he smelled something on you. Did everyone drink?"
"No ma'am."
"Do you want to tell me who did?"
"No ma'am."
"Emma."
"Amy! You know I don't snitch." Emma said.
Amy looked over to her nephew. "Were you drinking?"
"No ma'am." Kacey said quickly.
"Who was drinking?" Joe asked coming into the kitchen.
"That's what I was trying to figure out." Amy said.
"Well?" Joe asked his oldest.
"Way to play it cool, Ems." Kacey sighed.
"Sorry," She said, wincing at the glare his dad was giving him.
"Well?" Joe asked.
"Emma and her friends." Kacey said, knowing not the leave his dad hanging.
"Not Garret?" Joe asked.
"No Sir."
Joe knew he didn't need to ask about Aubrey. "Alright, then this doesn't seem to be any of our business." Joe lead Kacey out of the kitchen.
"Why?" Amy asked.
Emma bit her lip and slipped into her ballet stance. "I don't know."
