Ruka had spent weeks meticulously planning the perfect proposal to her girlfriend of three years, Pharita. Every detail was accounted for, from the timing of the sunset at the beach to the string quartet that would serenade them. In her small apartment, Ruka practiced her speech countless times in front of the mirror, imagining the joyous moment when Pharita would say yes.

"Pharita," Ruka began, staring at her reflection. "You are my everything. Will you marry me?" She paused, feeling the words weren't quite right. "No, no. Pharita, from the moment I met you, I knew you were the one. Will you make me the happiest person alive and marry me?" Each day after work, Ruka rehearsed her proposal, refining her speech and ensuring every word conveyed her deep love for Pharita. She even practiced getting down on one knee, making sure she wouldn't trip or stumble.

The day finally arrived, and Ruka was a bundle of nerves. She checked the weather app obsessively, relieved to see a forecast of clear skies. As she arrived at the beach, the first sign of trouble appeared: the string quartet had canceled due to a double booking. Ruka's heart sank, but she quickly reminded herself that the sunset was still there.

Ruka quickly texted Pharita, letting her know there was a slight change in plans and asking her to meet a little later. As she sat on the sand, she could feel her nerves bubbling up. The quartet was supposed to add a magical touch, but she told herself it was okay; the sunset and their love would be enough.

Setting up the picnic blanket, Ruka fumbled with the picnic basket. In her haste, she knocked over the champagne bottle, which promptly exploded, soaking her dress. She let out a frustrated sigh, looking down at the wet spot spreading across her dress. "Great, just great," she muttered, wiping her hands on her dress. Trying to shake off her anxiety, she texted Pharita to join her, determined to make the best of the situation.

Pharita arrived, radiant and smiling, her presence instantly calming Ruka's nerves. They shared a sweet hug before Ruka gestured towards the blanket. Just as Ruka was about to start her speech, a group of children ran past, kicking up sand and disrupting the moment. One of the children tripped and fell, and Ruka instinctively went to help him up, feeling the moment slip further away. Pharita watched, amused and touched by Ruka's kindness.

Determined to find a quieter spot, Ruka suggested a walk along the beach. Hand in hand, they walked, the soft waves lapping at their feet. Ruka's heart raced as she tried to find the perfect moment. She spotted a secluded area and thought it was now or never. She took a deep breath, ready to get down on one knee, when a dog came bounding towards them, snatching the ring box from her hand.

"Hey! Come back!" Ruka yelled, chasing after the dog. Pharita burst into laughter as Ruka ran after the playful pup, finally retrieving the ring box, which was now covered in slobber. They both sat down, out of breath and giggling, the tension from earlier dissipating.

As they calmed down, a sudden gust of wind blew Pharita's hat into the ocean. Ruka made a futile attempt to grab it, only to end up splashing in the water. Pharita couldn't contain her laughter, and Ruka, soaked and exasperated, joined in. They walked back to the picnic blanket, the sun now dipping below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the water.

Ruka gave up on her elaborate plans. She turned to Pharita, who was looking at her with a mix of amusement and affection. "My love, I had this perfect proposal planned, but everything seems to be going wrong," Ruka said, her voice trembling. "But none of that matters. All I want is to spend my life with you. Will you marry me?"

Pharita's eyes sparkled with unshed tears. She reached out, cupping Ruka's face in her hands. "Ruka love, I don't need perfection. I just need you. Yes, I will marry you, anytime and anywhere."

Ruka's heart swelled with joy as Pharita leaned in, pressing a sweet, tender kiss to her lips. The world seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them in their bubble of love. The chaos of the day melted into insignificance, replaced by the simple, profound happiness of their shared promise.
