In the bright, sunlit practice room of Babymonster, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and anticipation. The members were gathered around a large table, scattered with notebooks, snacks, and a few brightly colored posters announcing their upcoming full album, DRIP. The walls were adorned with photos from their latest photoshoot, showcasing their vibrant personalities and unique styles.

“Alright, everyone!” Yang Hyun-suk clapped his hands, drawing the group’s attention. “I have something special to share about one of the tracks.”

Ruka, Asa, Rora, Chiquita, Ahyeon, Rami, and Pharita turned to him, their faces a mix of curiosity and eagerness.

“I want you all to know, there's a song called Woke Up In Tokyo on your upcoming album” he continued, “this song has a hip-hop vibe, and when I heard the keywords ‘Tokyo,’ my thoughts immediately went to Ruka and Asa.” He paused for effect, watching as Ruka’s eyes widened in surprise and excitement.

“Because of your Japanese heritage and the way you both contribute to writing, I think it would be perfect for you two to have a unit for this track,” he announced, a smile creeping onto his face.

Ruka and Asa exchanged glances, their faces lighting up with joy and disbelief. “Really?!” Ruka exclaimed, barely able to contain her excitement. “We would love that!”

Asa nodded enthusiastically, her eyes sparkling with energy. “This is such an amazing opportunity! We’ve been wanting to do something together.”

Yang Hyun-suk chuckled softly, pleased with their enthusiasm. “I knew you’d be excited. But before we move forward, I want to hear what the rest of the members think about this idea.”

Chiquita leaned forward, her chin resting on her hands. “I think it’s a fantastic idea! You two have such great chemistry, and your styles complement each other perfectly.” Her eyes twinkled with excitement as she envisioned their potential.

Rora chimed in, “Plus, the song is about Tokyo! It makes sense to have you both represent it.” She loved the idea of Ruka and Asa bringing their roots into the spotlight, highlighting their unique backgrounds and experiences.

Ahyeon crossed her arms, smirking playfully. “I’ll admit, I’m a little jealous. I wanted a unit with Ruka-unnie!” she teased, her tone light and playful. Laughter filled the room, creating a warm, supportive atmosphere.

Rami added, “Come on, Ahyeonie. You can always team up with me for a different song! Besides, we all know Ruka-unnie and Asa-unnie will bring a special energy to this one.” She winked at them, a glimmer of mischief in her eyes.

Pharita nodded in agreement. “Their unique backgrounds will add authenticity to the song. I can already picture the visuals—Tokyo streets, vibrant lights! It’ll be a hit!” The idea of showcasing their culture through music excited her as well.

As the conversation flowed, Ruka and Asa felt a wave of support and enthusiasm from their members. It was a comforting reminder of their strong bond as a group, solidifying their trust and camaraderie.

“Okay, so it’s settled!” Yang Hyun-suk said, his voice cutting through the chatter. “Ruka and Asa will work together on Woke Up in Tokyo. I’m excited to see what you come up with.”

Ruka beamed at Asa, their hands instinctively finding each other’s. “Let’s make this song unforgettable!”

Asa squeezed Ruka’s hand back, her heart racing with creativity and inspiration. “We will! And we’ll make sure everyone is proud.” They exchanged determined smiles, their minds already racing with ideas.

As the members began brainstorming ideas for the song, Ruka and Asa took notes diligently, jotting down every suggestion and detail. Rora proposed a dance break that captured the vibe of Tokyo nightlife, drawing on her experiences visiting the city.

“What if we incorporate traditional Japanese elements into the choreography?” Ruka suggested. “We could mix hip-hop moves with some classic Japanese dance styles.”

“That’s a brilliant idea!” Asa replied, her excitement bubbling over. “It would create such a unique blend, making the performance even more captivating.”

As practice wrapped up and the members began to head out, Ruka and Asa lingered a little longer, their hearts full of dreams and aspirations.

“Can you believe it, unnie?” Asa said, a smile spreading across her face. “We’re finally getting to do this! We’ll have our own unit!”

“I know!” Ruka replied, her excitement bubbling over. “It feels like everything we’ve worked for is finally coming together. It’s not just about the song; it’s about sharing our culture and experiences.”

“Let’s make sure this unit shines,” Asa said, her determination evident. “We’ll show everyone what we can do.” She could already envision their performance, the lights illuminating their smiles as they danced to the rhythm of Tokyo’s heartbeat.

With a final high-five, they left the practice room, their hearts soaring as they looked forward to the journey ahead. The album DRIP was just the beginning, and together, Ruka and Asa were ready to take on Japan and the world.

A/N:

What’s up, everyone? Who’s excited for the DRIP album? What are your thoughts so far, and which track are you claiming as yours right now? Honestly, I was expecting at least one unit before they officially announced the album. And yes, if there was going to be a unit, I totally expected it to be RUKASA—not gonna lie. I’m so happy for them, of course. 🦥🐰

Since I'm really into R&B, I’m claiming Billionaire for now. I’m also excited to hear Love, Maybe since it’s going to be a guitar-and-vocal-based song. Honestly, I’m pumped for all the new tracks. Let’s show our support for the girls during the comeback! We’re getting at least three music videos! Clik Clak MV drops on October 29, and DRIP MV follows on November 1. Plus, Yang Hyun-suk mentioned they’re working on one or two more music videos, so Monstiez are about to be well-fed. 💗

Wishing nothing but success for the girls. And if you ask me what my next dream unit is, it’s definitely RAMYEON. 😌
