Asa sat on the edge of the bed, her heart heavy with worry. For the past two months, Rora had been leaving the house before sunrise and returning long after sunset. Asa had tried to be understanding, but the doubts had started to creep in. She hated herself for thinking this way, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

"Maybe I'm just being paranoid," Asa murmured to herself, trying to convince her heart to calm down. But it was no use. The longer Rora stayed away, the more the fear gnawed at her.

Finally, unable to bear it any longer, Asa decided to confront her wife. She picked up her phone and dialed Rora's number, her hands trembling slightly.

"Hey, babe," Rora's voice came through the line, sounding cheerful but a bit tired.

"Rora, can you come home early today? I... I need to talk to you," Asa said, trying to keep the quiver out of her voice.

There was a pause on the other end, and Asa could hear Rora's breath hitch. "Of course. I'll be home soon. Don't worry, okay?"

Asa nodded, even though Rora couldn't see her, and hung up the phone. She felt a lump forming in her throat, and she bit her lip to keep the tears at bay. What if her worst fears were true? What if Rora had found someone else? Asa's mind raced with possibilities, each one more painful than the last.

Time seemed to drag as Asa waited for Rora to come home. Every minute felt like an eternity, and by the time she heard the familiar sound of the door unlocking, Asa was a bundle of nerves.

Rora walked in, a small smile on her face, but there was something different in her eyes-something warm and gentle. "Asa, I'm home."

Asa stood up, her heart pounding in her chest. She had rehearsed what she wanted to say a hundred times, but now that Rora was in front of her, all the words seemed to vanish.

Rora noticed Asa's troubled expression and immediately closed the distance between them, wrapping her arms around Asa's waist. "Hey, what's wrong?"

Asa took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. "Rora, I... I thought... I mean, you've been coming home so late, and leaving so early, and I just... I thought maybe you didn't love me anymore or that you found someone else."

Rora's eyes widened in shock, and she gently cupped Asa's face in her hands. "Asa, no. No, no, no. I would never-"

Before Rora could finish, Asa cut her off, the floodgates finally opening. "I was so scared, Rora. I thought I was losing you, and it hurt so much."

Rora pulled Asa into a tight embrace, holding her as if she'd never let go. "Oh, Asa, I'm so sorry. I never meant to make you feel that way. I love you more than anything in this world, and I would never do anything to hurt you."

Asa clung to Rora, the weight of her fears and doubts slowly melting away in her wife's arms. "Then why? Why have you been so distant?"

Rora pulled back slightly, just enough to look Asa in the eyes. "I was trying to surprise you. I know you've been wanting a car for a while now, so I've been working extra hours to save up and buy one for you."

Asa's breath hitched, and she blinked back tears. "A car? But, babe, you don't even have one for yourself."

Rora smiled softly and wiped away a tear that had escaped down Asa's cheek. "I know, but I wanted to do this for you. You deserve it. You've always supported me in everything, and I wanted to give you something special in return."

Asa's heart swelled with emotion, and she felt a rush of guilt for doubting Rora's love. "Oh, I don't know what to say. I... I feel so guilty for thinking badly about you."

"Don't, babe," Rora said gently, her voice full of understanding. "It's okay to be worried when things seem off. But I want you to know that you're the only one for me. Always."

Asa nodded, tears streaming down her face now, but they were tears of relief and overwhelming love. "I love you, Rora. I'm so lucky to have you."

Rora kissed Asa softly on the forehead, holding her close. "And I'm lucky to have you too, Asa. Now, come with me. I want to show you your surprise."

Rora led Asa outside, where a brand-new car sat in their driveway, gleaming under the streetlights. Asa gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. "Baby, it's beautiful."

"Only the best for my beautiful wife," Rora said, her eyes twinkling with pride and love.

Asa turned to Rora, her heart overflowing with gratitude. "Thank you. This means everything to me. But what means the most is knowing that you did this all for me."

Rora smiled and wrapped an arm around Asa's shoulders, pulling her close. "I'd do anything for you, Asa. You're my everything."

Asa leaned into Rora, feeling safe and loved in her arms. "And you're mine, Rora. Always."
