Ahyeon sat quietly in the practice room, her eyes fixated on Chiquita and Asa. The two of them were laughing, playfully teasing each other between breaks, their bond seemingly growing with every passing moment. Chiquita’s eyes lit up every time Asa spoke, and it made Ahyeon’s heart clench in an all too familiar way.

The more Ahyeon watched, the tighter the knot in her chest became. She tried to focus on her own dance moves, but every time she caught a glimpse of Chiquita's smile directed at Asa, jealousy gnawed at her insides. She had no right to feel this way—Chiquita wasn’t her girlfriend. They didn’t have labels.

They had an understanding, or so Ahyeon had thought. Yet, watching Chiquita’s fondness for Asa grow so visibly, Ahyeon couldn’t shake the burning feeling of envy.

It’s not like she’s mine, Ahyeon reminded herself, biting her lip and trying to focus on anything but the sight of Chiquita beaming at Asa. She can be close with whoever she wants… right?

But her heart didn’t want to listen. Instead, it ached with every shared laugh and every lingering glance between Chiquita and Asa.

Later that evening, Ahyeon found herself in her usual spot—confiding in Ruka. Ruka had always been her solace, someone she could open up to when the weight of her emotions became too heavy. As they sat in the dimly lit dorm room, Ahyeon let out a deep sigh, leaning against Ruka's shoulder, something she often did when her thoughts became overwhelming.

"I don’t know why I feel this way, unnie," Ahyeon murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know Chiquita and I don’t have… anything official. But seeing her with Asa-unnie—seeing how happy she looks—it hurts."

Ruka, sitting across from her, gave a small nod, her expression thoughtful. "It’s normal to feel jealous when you care about someone. Even if there’s no label, that connection you feel is still real."

Ahyeon looked down, her fingers absentmindedly twisting the bracelet around her wrist. She leaned her head against Ruka’s shoulder again, seeking the familiar comfort that always seemed to calm her. Ruka was warm, understanding—always there when Ahyeon needed her.

But what Ahyeon didn’t realize was that Chiquita had her own storm of emotions brewing.

From the corner of the practice room, Chiquita watched, her heart sinking with every moment Ahyeon spent closer to Ruka. She noticed the way Ahyeon naturally gravitated towards Ruka—how she would lean into her, how she would hug Ruka with an ease that made Chiquita’s heart twist painfully.

They had a mutual understanding, didn’t they? So why did it feel like Ahyeon was drifting away? Every time Chiquita saw Ahyeon wrapped in Ruka’s arms, it felt like her heart was being pulled apart. She had thought she and Ahyeon were on the same page—that there was something special between them. But it seemed like Ahyeon’s heart might belong to someone else. To Ruka.

Chiquita bit her lip, her hands clenched into fists at her sides. Every hug, every soft smile exchanged between Ahyeon and Ruka, felt like a stab to her heart. She had always thought there was something between her and Ahyeon—a silent understanding that didn’t need words. But now, she couldn’t help but feel like she was losing her.

The days passed, and the tension between them grew thicker. Ahyeon noticed how distant Chiquita had become, how she would avoid her gaze or make excuses to leave the room when she and Ruka were together. The once easygoing closeness they shared seemed to be slipping through her fingers, and the more Chiquita withdrew, the more Ahyeon found herself seeking comfort in Ruka.

It wasn’t intentional, but the more Ahyeon felt lost, the more she gravitated towards Ruka, the one person who could make her feel safe. But it only worsened the painful misunderstanding between them.
