I looked at myself in the mirror as I applied another layer of concealer under my eyes to cover up my dark circles. My nightmares had become more frequent since the night at the club, and now they didn't only feature the gorgeous man with the dimples, but also six others. Three of the six had been the ones I had seen at the club.
In my nightmares my savior and the one that had stood beside the flirty one had golden eyes, but still were covered in blood. Blood running from their mouths though with dark looks in their eyes. The flirty one had red eyes, just like the guy with dimples and again I had seen him with blood all over him. But after meeting them my nightmares had turned a bit strange.
They weren't just nightmares anymore, there were other dreams as well. It had only been a couple of weeks, but some of those dreams had been dirty ones and not in the gross sense. At least they were better than the nightmares, but it was weird to be having those kind of dreams about some complete strangers.
I sighed softly as I finished my make up and made sure my hair would hold. I had another date tonight, my mother had informed me of that as soon as I had gotten back from class today. I wasn't looking forward to it, considering how the last one went.
My parents forced me to go on dates with men around my age, just for the night. I wasn't sure what my parents got out of it, but they were always happy when the guys showed up, handing them an envelope and then I was gone for the night until I came back home.
Nothing weird ever happened, and definitely nothing that was sexual. Just hung out with the guys, normally accompanied them to parties and such. It was still weird to have to do, but complaining to my parents wouldn't get me anywhere sadly.
There was a knock on my door and I looked towards my door as it opened to reveal my mother. "Your date is here, he's waiting downstairs." She told me and I nodded before she walked in and grabbed a pair of heels from where they sat on my shoe organizer. "Wear these, this guy is very tall." She said as she handed them to me.
The heels were just normal black stilettos, but the heels themselves stood pretty tall. I slipped them on my feet before grabbing my small purse and looking up at my mother.
"How do I look?" I asked her and she smiled at me.
"You look beautiful as usual, come on let's not let your date keep waiting." She told me and I nodded and followed her out of the room.
We made our way downstairs and met the man. He was a few years older than I was with brown hair and glasses. His hair had a middle part to it, and when he saw me he smiled.
"My name is Ethan, I'll be your date tonight. Shall we get going?" He asked me and I nodded softly as we made our way out of the house. We got into his car and he drove us into the city, not a single word was spoken between the two of us until we pulled up at the club I had been to, two weeks ago.
"Alright so how this night is going to go is you'll stay by my side, we might dance. I'm here to see some friends and catch up with them, I just didn't want them to think that I was a loser and didn't have a girlfriend." He told me and I nodded as he parked around the side.
"Just so you know my name is Adeline, I don't know if my parents told you that or not." I told him in a nervous tone as I kept looking up at the building. Sometimes my parents didn't tell the men my name.
"Alright well let's get going." He told me and we got out before making our way inside the club.
The interior was the same as I remembered, the lights changing with the thumping of the beat. He walked us over to the bar and I could immediately feel eyes on me once again, but I couldn't look over at the bar.
