(Namjoon's POV)
"It has to be reincarnation or something. I thought she looked familiar, and she's just as artistically talented as she was." Taehyung said in an excited tone as soon as we had made it back into the office.
"Tae, reincarnation has never been proven in the hundreds of years that we've all been alive. It doesn't make sense why she would get reincarnated either." Jin argued with him and I just kept thinking about how much she had told us tonight, about her dreams and everything.
"If it isn't reincarnation then how do you explain her dreams? Her very real dreams of us?" Jungkook said as he argued back with Jin, fighting for Tae's side.
Hoseok came walking in moments later before coming up and pouring himself a glass of whiskey before downing it in one go. "She's home and safe." He said as he went and stood, leaning against the wall.
Jin, Kook and Tae were all still arguing with each other, they just wouldn't let it go.
"Listen, it may be reincarnation and it might not be, but that girl is having dreams of us. Now I don't know what it means, but it definitely means something." I told them all as they all looked over to me, their curious looks burning into me.
"It means she's her, and she belongs with us!" Tae said in an angry tone as I just shook my head.
"Tae you can't just force her to be with us. After tonight we don't even know how she's going to be feeling about all of this." Jin told him trying to be the voice of reason.
"She doesn't know enough to even know how to feel." Kook said and I had to agree with him there, but it was better she didn't know.
"It's better she doesn't know though. You heard her tonight, the last thing it seemed like she wanted was anything to derail her life. If we were to tell her about our world her life would definitely be derailed." I told them and everyone's attention was back on me, they didn't seem to be too happy with my choice.
"So you want her to just go through life still having those nightmares and not understanding what it means?" Kook asked and I stood up from my desk.
"We will not force her hand in this. If she wants us in her life then she obviously knows where to find us. We don't even know what those dreams mean ourselves." I told them as I grabbed my keys to the place. "It will be her decision and her decision alone. Now let's get going home before we're here all night discussing this." I ordered them, and with that being said we all left the office and made our way out of the building before going home to our penthouse. This discussion being dropped for now.
(Adeline's POV)
I sat in a chair in front of a mirror, but the person staring back at me in the mirror wasn't me. Don't get me wrong she looked like me a lot, but the clothes were outdated, and her hair was the same dark brown as my natural hair color.
"Who are you?" I asked the girl in the mirror as she smiled a bit at my question, she was currently fixing her hair.
"My name's Tara. It's nice to meet you Adeline." She told me and I was a bit confused as to how she knew my name, but there were more pressing questions to be asked.
"What are you doing here Tara?" I asked her and she smiled a bit more.
"I can tell you're confused by the men. You don't have to worry, unlike others they don't mean you any harm." She told me and I just crossed my arms across my chest, the amount of confusion I felt was almost suffocating.
"They don't even know me so why would they mean me any harm?" I asked her and she just smiled a big smile.
"You'll figure that out on your own, but just remember what I told you." She told me and before I could say anything else the dream world was fading.
I awoke with a start, feeling so confused it wasn't funny. What the fuck did that dream even mean?
I could feel a headache starting and got up to go and grab some ibuprofen. As I had made my way out into the hallway I could hear my parents talking lowly downstairs, and when they mentioned my name I hid on the stairs to listen to them.
"What do you mean it's not enough? We haven't been practically whoring our daughter out for nothing. You told me you had this under control." I heard my mother say to my father she sounded very angry with him, had it not been so late at night she probably would have been raising her voice.
"The amount I owe him was being caught up until he tacked on the interest for the initial amount I owed him. It goes back years and that's a lot of money. Now I owe him the interest as well, and that's almost as much as we've paid him already." My father said as I sat down on the step to listen to them some more.
"How much longer did he give you to pay him back? I'm sure we can work something out. Maybe Adeline can get a job and she can help." My mother told him in a suggestive tone and although that was a great idea, why do I think that still wouldn't be enough?
"He gave me two weeks and then that was it. I don't know what to do Sarah. Even if she gets a job now it wouldn't help, and the dates haven't been bringing in enough cash. There just isn't anything we can do at this point." My father told her and I could hear my mother sigh a bit.
"There has to be something else we can try, maybe something with the dates to make them cost more? All the girl does is go to a community college, and even if she got a part time job the money could go towards what you owe until it's all paid off. There has to be a way." My mother said in a frustrated tone and I could hear her pacing a bit.
"There's only one thing that could make the dates worth more and if you already felt that we were whoring her out before I can't even begin to wonder how you would feel about that." My father said and my mother stopped her pacing temporarily.
"We can't ruin her innocence like that George, how could you even think like that? That's completely off the table." My mother said in a hard tone and I immediately thanked my mother in my head. My father could be relentless at times when he wanted something.
"Then we're back to where we started. We have no other options and you know this guy isn't going to be very friendly when I tell him that I don't have his money for him. So just be prepared for that." My father said in a frustrated tone himself and I could hear someone coming towards the stairs.
I quickly got up and headed back to my bedroom, hiding from whoever was coming back upstairs. As soon as I was back in my room I thought over what I had just found out, this made a lot of sense. I had never understood why my parents had always pushed me out on these dates with different men before, but I guess that made sense now. They needed money because of my father's debts which I hadn't even known about.
I was so angry with them, the amount of time I had spent with different guys. Especially the night with Kai, I had been terrified. But you had met the guys thanks to that, my mind said and I cursed at myself.
Those guys weren't getting involved in my life anymore than they already had been. I don't know how I felt about them, but I surely didn't want them becoming any part of my life right now. I had enough on my plate as it is with just going to college and the amount of dates I was made to go on.
I sighed softly as I laid back down in my bed, the ibuprofen long forgotten. What was going to happen in two weeks? What was the guy my father owed money to going to do?
I wouldn't know until two weeks from now and that thought just made me let out another sigh as I let my exhaustion take over me before I fell asleep. Forgetting about the worries of the day.
