Every single one of the guys had gone up to tell the man on the throne what had happened four hundred years ago. My heart hurt so much for them, I couldn't understand their pain, but I now had known what had happened all those years and it made me hate Zane even more.
Every single one of their stories had taken almost an hour to get through, and once they were all done they had sat back down beside me. All eight of us sat in a line, with me in the middle of them all.
"Now we'll hear their current pet's story." The man on the throne said in a demanding tone and Namjoon and Jimin got up before I did. I stood up and followed them where they had been standing, in the middle of the floor in front of the throne.
I bowed my head respectively to the man on the throne. "Namjoon, her collar." The man told him and I just felt Namjoon take it off, the protection of the stone leaving me. Apparently the man on the throne had the ability to see if people were lying when asking them questions, came in handy with his job. But with the choker still on my body, it wouldn't work. The choker, or stone itself though would still work as long as it was put back on me by Namjoon, something they hadn't told me until last night.
I raised my head as I heard their footsteps getting further away. "State your name for the record." The man told me.
"Adeline Rosalyn Ward." I said as I tried to pretend that Zane wasn't staring daggers at me right now.
"You're Namjoon's group's newest pet and future mate, correct?" He asked me and I nodded softly.
"Yes sir." I told him as his eyes looked deeply into mine.
"You may now start to tell your story before me." He told me and I nodded, before telling him about what had happened over the past few months. He asked a bit of questions and I answered them honestly. I had no reason to lie to him.
As I finished telling him my story he looked over at the guards standing around us. "Is that all of your story?" He asked me and I nodded softly. "You may now go and sit down with your masters." He told me and as I went to turn around, but was surprised to find Zane standing in front of me, red eyes staring daggers down at me. This was what I had seen in my dream last night.
"Zane, go back to where you were standing!" The man on the throne ordered as Zane just kept his eyes on me. They didn't have their paralyzing effect like they had last time.
I moved to walk away, putting my hands in-between him and I as Namjoon and the others all stood behind him. Zane now seemed pissed off, his ability wasn't working, but how?
Before I could contemplate too much on that Zane's hand tightened around my throat, before he lifted me into the air as if I weighed nothing. "Why isn't it working on you?" He asked me as he stared back at me with those blood red eyes of his and I just scratched at his hand to get it off of my throat.
"I don't know." I choked out as his grip around my throat only tightened. I could see red marks on his hand and arm as the silver rings were burning him, but he didn't do anything besides keep holding me up in the air.
I fought for air as I looked up at the chandelier, wishing that it would somehow just crash into him and kill him. I closed my eyes softly as I sent a prayer to Tara for help or strength or legit anything at this point in time.
"Any of you move and I will break her neck." Zane said in a dangerous tone as I opened my eyes once again, the chandelier was now shaking. It hadn't been before.
I sucked in as small of a breath as I could as I willed the chandelier to break off the chain it was hanging from and much to my surprise it did. The bottom of came straight down towards Zane and he didn't have enough time to block it before it fell down on him, causing me to fall to the floor as well.
