I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I knew I was opening my eyes and looking up into the mirror that showed me Tara. I smiled at the relief that washed over me at seeing her, but it was short lived as I remembered the events of the day.

"My memory was messed with wasn't it? But how?" I asked her and she smiled a sad smile at me before nodding softly.

"Sadly your memory wasn't the only thing that was tampered with. I did what I thought was best when you were younger to hopefully help you and stop your suffering. I see now that it only hurt you more." She told me in a soft and sympathetic tone as her eyes took on a regretful look.

"What exactly all did you tamper with?" I asked her as she looked away from me for a bit before looking back at me.

"You have to understand, I see everything that happens to you. I'm stuck watching over you, and only you. I saw the hell you went through at a very young age because you were different, and so I locked the things that made you different away along with the memories of the hell you went through. I did it to protect you." She told me and I was even more confused now.

"How exactly am I different? What hell did I experience that you made me forget about?" I asked her and she looked away again, before touching the mirror. Her palm was on the mirror, facing me.

"Touch my hand on the mirror, I'll show you." She told me and I hesitated before setting my hand on her's.

The room around us went away and there she stood in front of me before the floor went out from underneath of us. I fell for a while, not entirely sure how long but when I landed even though I crashed down there wasn't any pain. I looked around at my surroundings as they had changed, I was in the doctor's exam room that I had been in earlier today but instead of the walls being a light blue they were a very pale brown.

I looked around to see a child on the exam table, I immediately recognized the child as me when I was younger, I looked to be about six. The doctor from earlier was talking to my parents out in the hall, I could hear them very faintly. The doctor walked in soon after their talking had stopped and in his hand was a lot of needles.

The child version of me immediately started to cry and got up to run but I was easily caught by the doctor. "It's okay Adeline, these are just for some tests we need to run. Sit down and be a good girl so this doesn't hurt more than it has to." He told me in an ordering tone as I just kept fighting against him.

As I watched this scene unfold other images of other scenes just like this one played in front of my eyes. What had happened to me? Why had this all happened? What were they testing me for?

I turned away from the images and tried not to hear the sounds of little me begging for help. "Tara, come out and explain this." I told her and in less than a second she was standing in front of me and the room around us had faded away to nothing.

"When you were born because of my sacrifice you were given an ability, one of the many that you have. You would heal at a very fast rate. At one point you had broken your leg, it completely healed in about a week's time. The doctor's were running tests on you nonstop from then until your next birthday. That's when I put my foot down, and decided to lock the ability away so you wouldn't suffer anymore. The next time your parents brought you in for more tests you almost bled out and the doctor stopped running tests. I took away your memories of all of this in hopes that you would live a normal life. I never wanted you to go through something like that, especially not because of something you couldn't help." She told me and my eyes went wide as I stared back at her.

"You're trying to tell me I have a healing ability that I don't know about and was tortured by a doctor at a young age because of it? And then when you locked away the ability you locked away the memories with it?" I asked her and she nodded, but she looked down at the floor.

"Those aren't the only memories I have locked away from you, and because of locking away the one ability it's why you can't freely use the others." She told me and I nodded a bit before crossing my arms across my chest.

"Give me every memory you took from me back. I need to know what you made me forget." I told her and she immediately shook her head.

"One of them has Zane in it from when you were younger. I don't think you want to see that." She told me and I sighed angrily, wishing I could wake up but it felt like I was stuck here.

"Give me back the memories, and give me back the ability to heal fast. I need it now more than ever. I haven't been able to talk for two weeks after what that asshole did to me." I told her and she hesitated but then we were up in the air again, falling once again until we landed in a room that I would know anywhere.

The room was my living room, although it looked a bit different since we had gotten new furniture only a few years ago. I saw a twelve year old me sitting on the couch beside my father, and mother as Zane sat in one of the chairs across from us. His eyes were on me the entire time.

"For your debts to me once your daughter turns eighteen I'll take her with me, on the day I come for her you will give no hesitation and just hand her over. She will be mine to do what I wish with, of course only if you can't get the money back to me in time." Zane told my parents as I could see twelve year old me wanting to jump off the couch and say no, but younger me was stuck sitting on the couch because of his ability.

"We will make sure to pay you back no matter what, our daughter will not fall into your grasps." My father told Zane as he reached forward and grabbed the pen and signed the paper on the coffee table, he was signing a contract and signing away my life in the same flourish of ink.

Zane smirked over at twelve year old me before grabbing the contract and standing before leaving without another word being said. I felt like I was going to be sick, physically I wanted to throw up and mentally and emotionally I was a mess.

"Namjoon couldn't see these memories because they were locked away could he?" I asked Tara as she materialized beside me a moment later.

"No, he couldn't see them at all. Although I'm sure Hoseok knows about the doctor after reading his mind at your appointment. That doctor was a sadist towards you growing up." She said as the room around us faded once again, and we were standing back in our normal room, but there wasn't a mirror separating us now. "If you take my hand I can restore your healing ability and send you back to the waking world. I'm sorry for doing all of this to you. I was just trying to keep you safe." She told me and I nodded softly, understanding what she had done, and why she had done it. If I had been in her shoes I would have done the very same thing as well.

I took her hand in mine and I felt a shock go through my body. It wasn't a painful one, but a weird feeling none the less. "Now I shall send you back to the waking world. I'm sorry again for everything Adeline." She told me, but before she could I stopped her.

"It's okay, I understand why you did it. You were just trying to keep me safe and I get that. Trust me I do. I thank you for that, but maybe you should have given them back to me earlier or at least told me about them earlier." I told her and she nodded before the room faded away to nothing once again.
