(Namjoon's POV)
"I didn't see a mark on the girl so I didn't know she was your guys'. My apologizes." Zane told me just as Kook left with Addie to take her upstairs to my office. My anger towards this man had only grown as soon as he had used his abilities on Addie.
"If she had our mark, you would be able to smell us on her, she's simply just under our protection. But I've told you before, anyone who steps foot in here is to be left alone by you. I made myself clear." I told him in an angry tone as he just looked down at Addie's sketchbook on the bar.
"I'm surprised though that you wouldn't have given her the stone then, to keep her safe I mean. I'm guessing she doesn't know about any of us then." He told me as his eyes moved back up to me as I picked up Addie's sketchbook and closed it before putting it on the bar stool she had been sitting on.
"She knows, but she doesn't know everything." I told him as I crossed my arms across my chest. I felt my phone go off in my pocket before it went off again, and then I saw Jin leave store room before filling a glass with water and then he was gone. "What are you doing here Zane? And cut all the shit." I told him in impatient tone.
"Someone collected from one of my debtors, but I didn't authorize it. When I went to collect the two people had no recollection of owing any money. Knowing your group was the only one in the area, I thought I'd ask you." He told me and my thoughts had immediately gone to Addie, but instead I just shook my head.
"I don't know anything about that. None of my group does, but there have been some attacks in the area. Adeline herself got attacked just outside these doors so it's possible that it was someone else. Anyone can compel." I told him as I shrugged it off as nothing.
I wasn't about to tell him that I collected from one of his debtors, hell my group and I had been collecting from his debtors for years, but this is the only time he's ever shown up and asked questions about them. As soon as Yoongi told me that Adeline's parents had traded her for their debt, I knew I would never regret the fact of stealing her from him. Zane was cruel if we were going off what he had done in the past. He was a legit monster, where my group and I exercised control, he didn't and never had. I don't even believe control was in his vocabulary.
"Is that why she's under your protection? The attack? Cause I could have sworn she looked a lot like a certain old acquaintance of ours. What was that girl's name?" He said as a look of malice took over his eyes. I had to keep myself from lashing out at him, he was trying to get a rise out of me and it wouldn't work.
"You're talking about Tara, and she does look quite a bit like her, but she isn't Tara. History isn't repeating itself Zane. She's an innocent girl, she has no part in any of this." I told him in a softer tone as I tried to seem not effected by any of this.
"Ah yes Tara! I always forget her name." He said as his eyes lit back up with a look like he had actually remembered something, he was a good actor. "And thankfully it seems like history isn't repeating itself for now. I would hate to have to rewatch someone as pretty and innocent go through all of that again." Zane said making a disgusted face as he shook his head.
"Well it won't be, but thanks for stopping by." I told him and he nodded softly before walking out of the club.
I sighed once he was out of earshot as I uncrossed my arms and turned to see the others looking over at me from the doorway to the store room. I just wanted to punch something, not something but Zane in the face. He was so smug sometimes, and of course I couldn't care as long as Adeline was safe from him.
I took out of my phone to see the messages in the group chat. Kook had messaged she was lightheaded and Jin had brought her some water to help with it. Seems like she was breathing fine now which was good.
Zane may have been an asshole, but he did have good ideas. "We need to talk to her about making a bloodstone so she'll be safe if he comes around again or if any of our kind do." I told the others as I put my phone back into my pocket.
"But it will also make her more susceptible to our abilities, she might not agree to that." Jimin said in an honest tone as I nodded softly before looking at the stairs leading to my office.
"We might have to keep it from her, I heard his thoughts. All he's thinking of is her now, he will come for her and it will be the only thing that can help her so she has something to protect her from him." Hoseok said and I nodded once again.
"I looked at him with my eyes, all he wants is her. I wouldn't be surprised if he did what he did because she looked so much like Tara. We need to do something, there's also the mark thing." Tae said and I immediately turned on him.
"Not telling her the truth about the bloodstone is one thing, but we are not tricking her into becoming our mate for her safety." I told him angrily as he just flinched at my words.
I turned back around and headed up the stairs to check on Addie, by the time I got up there she was sleeping on the couch with her head on Kook's legs. The waste bin was in front of the couch, and the smell that was coming from it; she had gotten sick.
"What happened up here?" I asked them and Jin looked up at me with a saddened look.
"She thinks she's going to die at Zane's hands." He told me and I looked back over to Addie as Kook smoothed some of her hair.
"Her nightmares were about her this entire time then." I said and both of them just nodded at my words.
"She realized he wasn't wearing older clothes in her dreams, and she got sick. Then she fell asleep due to exhaustion." Kook told me as he filled me in on the situation.
"When she wakes up we need to talk to her about making a bloodstone, it's the only thing that will keep her safe from him. His ability, and the dreams she had about him killing her, we can't have him doing that again. She won't survive it." I told them as they nodded softly as they both just watched over her.
"Let's just hope she agrees to it." Kook said in a hopeful tone as Addie mumbled something under her breath.
"She will, it's the only thing that will protect her from him since I doubt she wants the other choice." I told them as I shook my head softly at the idea. She had known us for barely two weeks, there was no way she would agree to the other option.
"We need to get her home, she'll be more comfortable there." I told the two in the room with me and Jin moved forward to pick her up.
"Tara, stop being so cryptic and just tell me what you mean." She mumbled sleepily as she gripped Jin's shirt in her hand as he now had her in his arms.
"She must be having another visit." Kook said in a curious tone, and before I could stop myself I reached forward and took her hand in my hand and closed my eyes. I desperately wanted to know what was being said.
As I concentrated nothing but the same old memories I had seen last time flashed before my eyes. Sometimes I could see people's dreams, it at least had worked with the others in my group in the early days.
I released her hand as I gave up and opened my eyes. I let out an exasperated sigh, as Jin carried her out of the room and Kook followed him soon afterwards. Knowing that Tara had shown up today, of all days had to mean something, but what did it mean? We would have to hope that Addie would tell us when she woke up later.
